Miandad vs Lloyd could be a good debate if people try to look past the average difference.
Javed will win but it's an interesting one. Lloyd has a slightly better overseas record.

Clive thrives in these exercises too:

Average in away tests with a below average runs-per-wicket:

Lloyd 41
Miandad 32

Average in innings where the rest of the team are averaging 30 or below runs per wicket:

Lloyd 48
Miandad 35

Obviously neither exercise isn't without its issues but he stood up a lot when the Windies suffered bad starts.

"deserve" isn't really a thing, but the fact that people like Lloyd who average 46 and people like Crowe who average 45 are often rated above people who average over 50 is a display of just how overrated the obsession with 50 average is imo
