I don't think he has a better away record than Crowe, Gower or Lloyd.

These two were both monstrous at home but Waqar is naturally more impressive and valuable in that regard because Pakistan isn't seam friendly.
Problem is even though Pakistan isn’t seam friendly, all of Imran Wasim and Waqar have done better at home than away. Even Kapil Dev did the same. Asian pacers getting brownie points for Asian conditions is hard when these guys do much better home than away.

Success in Pakistan with the ball is a less frequent art than success in Pakistan with the bat so Waqar is a bigger point of difference.

Lot? Miandad would be around Top 20-25 I guess
From their respective era:-

Viv, Gavaskar, Chappell, Border are better than Miandad.

Ambrose, Wasim, Donald, McGrath are better than Waqar. If you count spinners, Warne comes in. Murali debuted a little later though and was more of 2000s great but can be counted too.

Lloyd's away record in India and Australia is stunning.

A lot of fast bowlers have achieved success in Pakistan. Cummins, Steyn, Anderson all have achieved success via reverse swing. I think India and SL are more spin dominated countries. Pakistan is usually flat or has something for pacers. Nowadays, they have switched to spin following the footsteps of Indian cricket.

Yeah he was decent in England too. Batting down the order is somewhat restrictive of status but he had the strike rate, didn't pad not outs, and scored a lot of runs when the Windies suffered a bad start.

Obviously seamers thriving in Pakistan is not unprecedented but it's not frequent.

Murali debuted 7 months after Warne. 4 months after Donald. And over a year prior to McGrath.

Technically not

In test cricket you win only if you get bowl out the opposition. In ODIs/T20s you win if you score more runs than the other team

Many wouldn't agree, but think Lloyd was also better than Javed.
