RMBolton

U19 Debutant
28 wickets at 18.46 average and 7.99 economy since the last World Cup.

I wouldn't trust him in any big white ball game (tbf not sure who I would trust in the modern game though) but he's been excellent in T20I cricket over the last 18 months.
With a 5 over minimum, he's taken the most wickets at the best average, best SR & 6th best economy this cycle. He's the first on the list.

Its a very good side. I am not sold on Henry or Ferguson but otherwise, that should be a strong squad against any team.
Henry is our best all-formats bowler. Lockie came real good in the home T20s series', especially the Australian one. Those guys are two of the first guys picked in T20, although Southee as TH said has been very good for a while now, too.

I actually really wish Boult wasn't involved. I hate this have your cake and eat it scenario with him, and he got absolutely pumped v Australia this summer. He shouldn't be in the XI. As much as I hate to say this about a guy who did so much for his country, I hope he never plays for us again

Yeah, Sears clearly outbowled him in that Aus series and I'd rather have him in the squad.

I loved the way O'Rourke bowled in Pakistan too, but I don't mind that they're not rushing him.

Tbf this would be inflated by his 5fer against the UAE wouldn't it?

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
I wonder if I should feel guilty about liking it now. Good change for mine. Fresh & dynamic, like KW's T20 batting approach,
I quite like it as well tbh. Needs some contrast in the design (maybe some black stripes) but otherwise quite pleasing tbh

Yeah we need to move past southee and boult now and focus on o-rourke & sears. Southee will get predictably pumped when we predictably choke another semi final. Boult's okkkkk...i guess. Going alright in ipl but meh i guess have him in...sure lol. Henry can do both of these guys job better. Really wish kj was fit and had some t20 success recently, would be a diff conversation.

KW in there is actually bonkers. Has had so many injury worries of late. Never a real t20 pedigree, no form or matches of late and stunk it up big time wasting deliveries in the last t20 wc. Save him for the next odi wc and the dullard-fest format please. Seifert should have his spot.

Surprised that milne isn't in there...that injury must be pretty bad. He's been getting picked in all our t20 games like a shoe-in. Gutted for him but meh, milne and injuries (shrug)

Personally i like ravindra in there. Picked off of promise and potential purely. It may pay off like it did in the odi wc. Young and something to build on.

I am glad they have picked matt henry though.

Speaking of o'rourke, i am pleasantly surprised by the energy he brings. The way they were painting him in the kj mould, though he would be 128-136. Was expecting sears to be comfortably quicker since everyone has been saying he can nudge 150. But no, both him and rourke are in the 137-145 range. Sears has the odd quicker one every now and then at 90mph+ but that's really it. Becoming a big believer in o rourke. So much to work with.

Foulkes is only 21, lots to work with him as well. Hopefully Ewald Schreuder can turn some heads soon as well so we have our next young left arm quick ready.

Yes big fan of O'Rourke - knew he was quick though the bounce and inwards movement makes him quite an unusual bowler. Just needs a little more accuracy, really.

Sears has had an even more important last few months for his career though. Had injury troubles, then a lacklustre start to his domestic summer and could see him languishing at domestic level if things went another way. But got a test debut where he bowled well, and had a good T20 series v Pakistan. Is 26 now, can become an NZ regular in the next 1-2 years.

And mike bracewell ayy....just walks right in no problems. They think that highly of him and the balance he brings. Lets see how that goes.

I do feel we missed him at the ODI WC (batting especially) but then again if it was him we probably wouldn't have seen ravindra's batting + phillips bowling climb levels.
