One of the reasons I rate Waugh is because he started off being the player who could play shots like his brother, but put them all away to just score runs and be the rock Australia needed post Border.
Steyn's avg way better than his contemporaries just like Smith's.This is obviously over rating Steyn but I agree.
I was comparing Steyn to Smith notHe would be if Steyn averaged about 17.
It depends which contemporaries you're talking about. Philander and Rabada both have slightly better averages than Steyn, although Steyn had a longer career than either of them.Steyn's avg way better than his contemporaries just like Smith's.
Funny thing is that must have been the worst SA attack that he facedNo. 3

Throughout the 90s, Waugh has scored more points than Lara consistently. I don't know if it is the Flair of Lara or the ease with which Sachin scored runs, Waugh is never seen as their equal despite having scored massive number of runs everywhere and against the best. His best bowling attack points was dragged down significantly because of the poor performance in 2001-02 series against SA otherwise it would have been a whooping 175.
Predictions are welcome. So it comes down to Sachin and Marnus
Donald, Pollock, Adams and Klusener when he bowled rapid?Funny thing is that must have been the worst SA attack that he faced
Donald got injured after 1st test iirc ?Donald, Pollock, Adams and Klusener when he bowled rapid?
When the countdown is complete do the list without the Not Outs and show what difference they made. And for all the commotion over batting avg and not outs, Waugh at no.3 and Chanderpaul at no.11 isn't too bad, is it?
ooh! That's a lot of work pal. We are talking modifying nearly 150 sheets and then consolidating them, probably not feasible. If you want the points for a particular player or any breakdown, I can give. When the countdown is complete do the list without the Not Outs and show what difference they made.
Ah. I only checked the first test scorecard. Still, he scored 160 in itDonald got injured after 1st test iirc ?

But having worked on them for quite sometime, I can tell you what difference it would make. If you use just the batting avg, Waugh would remain at the same spot as there is a massing gap between him and no. 2. Chanderpaul will move ahead of Kohli and may be even Sanga. Laxman and Gilchrist would move a few spots higher. That's about it.
He broke Donald, so deserving of the points.Ah. I only checked the first test scorecard. Still, he scored 160 in it
