Whincup did it in the strongest era, and both he and Skaife had the same long term great team mate.

Lowndes, McLaughlin and Ambrose both noticeably lifted the pace that you needed to bring to be the champ. Lowndes is a winner of great races rather than great championships.

Which is also increasingly true of Murphy, who loved to be really fast but get on the wrong side of factory team principals and move to shithouse teams in his prime (PWR).

The rest were very, very good drivers who punctuated strong periods for someone else with their Rosberg moments (while also ensuring Lowndes kept coming second).

How come Russell is that much ahead of Wilt while both played in the same era??
Played in a way that actually won stuff. Wilts playing style was all me me me and there's plenty of analysis out there proving pretty conclusively that his stats were very inflated.
