Dwayne Smith is as good as Collingwood in the field. There's just the small matter of teams preferring to pick batsmen for their batting rather than their fielding. :p Collingwood wins because he's actually done something other than field for England.

That said, Smith is a very handy ODI bowler. He should work on that aspect of his game, seeing as he's intent on squandering his glorious batting talent.
:D

International Debutant
Since he is usually placed in slips, he will be accustomed to the position, and is good at it. That would make sense.

It's not actually bothering me.

I was thinking another way of doing this sort of thread.

What would be your alltime best fielding team (in position)

ie set a field for a game, and put in the best people to fill that field...

'Keeper - Taibu
Slips - Flintoff, Warne, Lara
Backward Pt. - Gibbs
Cover - Collingwood
Midwicket - Ponting

Not sure about the other 3 yet.

Yes, but I needed a spot for Gibbs and he's also a fine fielder at backward point. I'm not intending to have a backward point and a point except for one or two players in world cricket.

Don't know if anyone else saw this one, but the best catch I've ever seen was a Superman effort by Daren Ganga at square leg. Gary Kirsten play a thunderous pull and Ganga flew full stretch and took it one-handed in a split second.

Lara also took an amazing catch off Klusener last year.
No-one can ever possibly, I don't think, take a better catch than Rhodes' off Croft in The Emirates Trophy 1998.
I won't try and describe it, if you don't mind - words couldn't possibly do it justice.

my first post! anyway, one cool catch i saw was a couple of years ago, i think it was slater at silly mid on and the batsman, i think he miteve been english, smashed it, and as the batsman hit the ball, slater turned to the side, and the camera panned out trying to find the ball. then it turned out the ball actually went into slaters chest and he held it. couldnt help laughing

One of the most significant dropped catches of recent times.
I believe that one terrible innings taught Flintoff a few things.

that catch ponting took of symonds's bowling in the last vb series was amazing. I think it may have been tendulkar who was dismissed from it as well.
