mmmm just thinking about that that is very true. Contracts are in Initial Planning and actually not Legally Bound he has just stated he will be back but has not signed the contract.

Contract meaning the typical "I've signed on to a team for the season and I'll be free at the end of it".

but the season hasnt started yet as far as im concerned the player is free till you name that first team for the year and once you name that team you will be bound to that team till the end of the season unless released.

I thought it's pretty much always been that when the squads are confirmed that's when people are contracted.

So can we have confirmation that people can be contracted for Dev League XII now even though it may be a while off?

Well as far as the league is concerned, once a player commits to a club, he/she has signed on for the season. Otherwise it can be hell for a club to organize its squad list heading into next season. Consider that if we do it your way, all the players Black has signed can theoretically jump ship the day before the season starts.

Well if that's the way we're looking at it, it still wouldn't be right to allow Dunn to move clubs after stating that he would remain at Blue. Because CW Blue asked players to state their allegiance toward the goal of arranging the squad for next season. So for a player to state that he will stay at the club and then change his mind after the club has begun said arrangement process, it's just not fair.

People generally don't think about it, but it's fairly common sense and common practice that when a club signs a player during the offseason, the club expects the player to be around for the next season.

That thing is too gauge interest this all Needs to be cleaned up though as it is a mess in Off season

That thing asked for all players who would be returning for Blue the following season. He said he would be. I really don't see how that isn't clear.

If you're absolutely sure you're staying on with Green for next season, just post saying so.

Surely Dunn posted saying he thought he would stay at Green but now he's received an offer that he wants to take up. Saying 'i'll stay' early during the off season is hardly binding. We've just lost Goughy so it seems fairplay for us to want another promising bowler from somewhere.
