Not wrong!!

Did like Koepka’s comment about the course they’re playing, which could basically be summarised as “there’s loads of great courses in the Chicago area but this ain’t one of them”!!

Solheim proving as one sided as expected. Can Rory get it done in Ireland tomorrow?
The members of many top private courses don’t want to host golf tournaments as they cause a lot of disruption

I used to be a member of The Australian in Sydney but that was at a time when Packer poured millions into the course every year so the members agreed to host tournaments because he basically subsidised the joint

Now it’s not as easy to get their agreement as the fees have gone through the roof & the Australian PGA recently took a year to find a host for this year’s event

LIV is undoubtedly getting pushback in the US for political reasons as well (one of the many reasons why I think it should be predominantly an international tour)

The Solheim Cup seems to be a pretty damp squib & should be US v the rest

What are you talking about? Europe has won the last three editions and they are still within striking distance here. They just need a draw to retain the Cup.

Yeah, as Anil mentioned, this is the first time for a number of years the US have been dominant. It could yet get turned around (especially if Europe could hole more putts, which Korda aside, has largely been the difference). But the US are out for revenge after last year and I think they've pushed the budget out big time (Obama attending etc) to make sure it's happened. Mind you, sounds like they ****ed up big style on the bus shuttles to get people in on the first day. I'd expect US to win the singles too and it ends up about 18-10. It doesn't help that some key European players (eg Maguire) are so bang out of form.

Got a friend who's a member of Walton Heath which is regularly used for big events. They basically lose half the course for a month whilst it's prepared and then everything removed. I do get why members would oppose it.

Well Europe certainly made them work for it in the Singles. They had a chance at the end but couldn't quite turn it around. Those Day 1 results in the end proving decisive. Looks like there was a bit of division in the European camp regarding why certain Scandinavian players were used rather more than others like Maguire (who proved a point in her singles).

Enjoyed seeing Hull give Korda a trouncing. Such a talented player when focused, just struggles to do it over 4 days.

Meanwhile, Rory had his pockets picked again, this time by Rasmus. An over aggressive putt on 17 costing him this time when he hadn't done a whole lot wrong up to then. Played 18 superbly and nearly got the eagle for a tie. Wentworth this week with a stellar field.........and I'm on hols.

Another near miss for McIlroy...well done Horschel!

Well done Lydia, a 5 shot romp! Just one bogey for the week!

Incredibly frustrating betting wise for me, Manassero blowing his lead, but I had Lawrence as well, who couldn't birdie either of the par 5s. Oh and Sullivan and Otaguei just m8ssing out on a place too at biggest odds.

Ko is in incredible form, amazing stuff.

At what point will they bin the President’s Cup as a complete waste of time? And I know the Canadians are renowned for their hospitality, but could they have served up a more US friendly course? They’re just throwing darts at these soft greens.

It’s been a waste of time for virtually its entire existence

The totally incompetent and almost broke Victorian government is putting up $35 million to stage it in 2028 & the best we can hope for is a total revamp

There’s been suggestions of it moving to mixed & that should at least be tried

Not really sure a revamp works anyway. I can't see them getting the women involved given it would clash with a Solheim Cup year. But for me, the biggest issue is creating a team ethic out of players who have all come through different tours and really have no connection to each other. Including LIV wouldn't help as frankly the US have more talent there anyway. It should just be binned, there was noticeably zero assistance coming from the crowds yesterday too because they don't care. I guess maybe a beered up bunch of Aussies might create a better atmosphere, but I doubt it makes much difference.

I wonder how embarrassing this defeat could be, I'm almost supporting the Yanks now for a laugh!!

Presidents Cup in Australia has historically attracted far less interest than LIV Adelaide or the Australian Open

It really is a dud

Then again, we are talking about a state government that is paying nearly $600 million not to host the Commonwealth Games
