Does it matter if your openers are openers? For example, could I pick Lara and Martyn (EXAMPLES) and open with them, and would that make them perform worse?

Unsure officially, but to add to realism I'm picking my batting by position (Sutcliffe and Smith to open ect).

See, I'm considering with my remaining 4 batsman just to go for the best, this might leave me with 4 openers or 7 Middle Order batsmen, it doesn't bother me.

Every player has an optimum position (based on where they've batted most in their career)

That position does have a bearing on performance
