Rounds 15 and 16?

We're going to be playing just 11 players, Andy, and their nationality is irrelevant.

I'm gonna have some problems at your pitch, but it's only one match, and i'll still look towards 2 seamers, 2 spinners.
I hope your quicks like getting smacked around the park :p, your probably better off playing 9 batsmen and two spinners. But you do have a better spinner then me in Billy Bates, hopefully his average goes up through ;).

I'll use 2 great seamers, one with the second lowest SR ever, and one with an average of 22.

Bates' average will go up, but hopefully not much.

Only problem is that my second spinner may well be a Round 13 or 12 pick.

AFAIA the sim takes averages into account more than strike rates.

Bond's stats are from the 1st Test not the second Test, so his average will go up to 23 and his S/R will also go up. Anyway they will both be useless in a 1-1-11, Khan batting would be more useful then his bowling.

To be honest, I was intending to pick Vogler from the start, I just didn't bother getting him earlier because I didn't think anyone else would. Besides, he only averages 22 and is probably South Africa's best ever spin bowler after Tayfield.

Not sure I can defend W Barnes, mind you. :p

I must admit, when vic went for a Zimbabwe player I really thought that was to be his one player, didn't realise he already had one!

Tactical stockpiling!
Marc, I assume that means there'll be a transfer period again this time.

Nice pick up there, i might have to reconsider my strategy now you have 3 great spinners and one very good all rounder.

well his bowling won at least 2 test matches his profile says, 902 FC wickets at 17.

His bowling seems to come mainly through the middle of his test career - than again Lohmann was playing at this point as well and well, Australia were only making 100 most innings, and alot of innings through that time were less so he didn't get the chance to bowl - England often only needed 2 or 3 bowlers.

I wonder why everyone keeps picking these SM and no one has picked the guy who they will be benchmarked at. Oh well i guess someone will wake up sooner or later and pick this guy.

Also Marc will players that played in the 50s that have good stats be changed much? I remember you said in a email that guys that played in the 30s and earlier are likely to have their stats altered. So does that mean guys that played in the 50s and beyond will stay pretty much the same?

This is pretty frustrating. This is about the third time I have been in the last 3 for selection picks. I can remember only being in the top 3 once.
