The Colts Thread

Dizzy #4

International 12th Man
Are you sure Skip the time is righ to retire? You still might have a bit more left.

My goals,

1000 Runs
30 dismissals
5 Tons in the long form of the game
Some Form for List-A!
Selection!

Teamwise
The List A and First Class Cups! At least some siliverware!
To help Thomas his way for the first ever 100 wickets and the others to thier pride
A chance for many long partherneship with anyone that can stay and hit

Majin

International Debutant
My goals:

To cement a place in the first team for FC cricket bowling well, hopefully taking a few more wickets but keeping the economy rate down.
To take a 5-fer at least ONCE >:{
To try and find some form with the bat again like I had long, long ago in season 7 and 8.
To get a fielding rating in double figures

Can't wait for the season to start again, should be a good season for the Colts, and definitely gotta have Kyle go out with a bang.

We're already used to you not being around much, Kyle...

But seriously, we'll send you out a winner.
That's the main reason why I'm deciding to retire. I'm not saying I won't be back in the future as a player or in some other role, but with heading overseas for a couple of moths next year and going to the world cup, I just won't have the time to devote to the team. Danieal & Jack have shown over the last few seasons that they're more than capable of handling things, and they will lead the club very well from next season.

My #1 goal is to have the Colts improve on last season and to continue to build this team into a team of champions. I'd like to see our batting improve, and I hope to lead by example on that note. Kyle, as it has been mentioned, deserves to go out with a bang and I'm really hoping we can top the table this season. :)

All quiet on the Colts front today, I see, however it's good to see a large amount of us have signed in already. We have, so far...

S Jasotharan (Dizzy #4)
DP Towns (Loony BoB)
NR Hancock (chooka_nick)
SJ Burke (burkey_1988)
GM Thomas (NZTailender)
KS Wright (Mister Wright)
JP McNamara (vic_orthdox)
G Nayak (wrangler203)
AS Das (Dasa)
DK Rai (Majin)
JB Malthus-Howell (crickhowell)
PJ Bharat (Resha)
MJ Pitt (Barney Rubble)
TV Weber (Kweek)

...all signed in, however we're still waiting on...

DJ Comley (cometer)
CD McKern (cameeel)
TB Bowman (open365)
AJ Fensome (Chubb)

I don't expect to see Fensome, personally, as he's only ever posted in this thread once as it is, however I hope all the other three sign in shortly...

crickhowell

U19 Vice-Captain
My primary goal for this season is to get back in the side and find some form, then I hope I can do my best to help the team to both titles.

Kyle, I'd just like to say that it's been an honor to play with you. And I'm with Burkey: send him out a winner :)

As for goals... it's all relative. As long as what I do benifits the Colts, I'll be happy.

Good to see you back, mate - don't forget to sign into the Season 11 Activity Check thread at the top of the forum, I don't think posting here will be good enough for the CWBCC.

Three to go - Bowman, Comley, Fensome!

NZTailender

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
I'm itching to get going...can't wait for the first game!

Looks like we're got a great bowling attack with plenty of cover:
Wright, Hancock, McKern, Weber, McNamara and whatshisname - the tank engine?

Sorry to anyone I've missed. I know Rai or Bharat bowls but I can't remember which one! Comley too?

I am the bowler, Pooja is the batswoman. I was only in the FC team for every game bar one for injury last season, Geggy. :(

Surely Weber's spot is more secure than McNamara's, presuming that's an FC side. Weber has a far better record.

Personally - and this is by no means official as I haven't yet discussed anything with the panel at all - I'd imagine it would be something more like this...

MJ Pitt
SJ Burke (wk)
G Nayak
DP Towns
S Jasotharan
JB Malthus-Howell or P Bharat (both have done well in the past, just not consistently)
NR Hancock
TV Weber
DK Rai
KS Wright
GM Thomas

Comley: Needs to sign in. Rai and Weber, I think, have better track records at FC level while McNamara and Comley have better track records in the OD game - at least from memory.
McNamara: Rai and Weber, I think, have better track records at FC level while McNamara and Comley have better track records in the OD game - at least from memory.
Bowman: Needs to sign in. Hancock will do his best to hold him out of the FC squad for as long as possible. Youngest lad in the squad so hasn't yet had too many chances to shine.
Fensome: Needs to sign in. Not yet impressed at FC level, although could compete for #6.
Das: Has never really taken his chances at FC level despite a number of starts and great OD form.
McKern: The most unfortunate in my opinion as he's extremely talented but he's in a squad full of also-extremely-talented fast bowlers. He'll definitely be given a chance to fight for his position, though, most likely when one or more of Thomas or Wright go off on international duty.

There's also the point that some of them may not be available at the start of the season. I'm pretty sure everyone that signs in will have their chance at some point, though.

Ah, the good ol' No.3 Spot:D. Personally prefer it more than No. 5 spot. Always more fun facing the fast stuff than the spinners.

TARGETS:
Try and make a mark on the OD game
Breach 1000 runs in one FC season for the first time...

I'll be in the nets, Thomas, Hancock, seeing as you guys are international standard now...How 'bout some practice..
