Bad luck in the OD match against Reds. The three spinner attack didn't do too badly though. Once again, a few starts but no-one went on with the batting. We're getting there, though - I reckon anyways.

I'd have to say it wasn't so much going on with the bat rather than we just failed to accelerate in time. We had players able to hit a few coming in down the order, so I feel more risks should have been taken. Credit to the Reds bowlers, they really tied us down.

tough luck, there guys, big ups to thomas for bowling so well, depressing to see all my 1st quarter form leave me so. But great stuff from our captain, for holding the innings together, sadly, i think more of us need to contribute with the bat.

Simply amazing bowling from Thomas, but sadly our first innings was all but a complete failure, and it lost us the game.

You are bowling spectacularly. Serious consideration about your return to the one day side will be discussed.

TBH I don't mind at all about being kept out of the OD side, as I go for way to many runs per over.

Your strike rate in the long form of the game continues to amaze though. Sometimes you've got to give a little to get a lot (i.e Lee in ODIs)

Thompson Included In 14

The CW XI Selection Panel has announced a squad of 14 to contest the first 3 One Day Internationals against England. Brendon Goff retains the captaincy, with Neil Pickup his deputy.

Of special interest is the inclusion o the uncapped Callum Thompson, who acts as injury cover for Marc Robbins for the first ODI. Rewarded for his top form this Dev Season is Daniel Towns, whilst veteran allrounder Reuben Verghese is recalled.

Nathan Hoy and Kyle Wright have been retained from the ODI team that played in India, whilst Dave Watt has been recalled as we look to build toward the World Cup. Kearsley, Butler and Markus represent an inexperienced, yet talented batting trio for the future, whilst Camps and Pickup add experience to the bowling attack.

On the back of his fine hundred in the tour match, Chaulk does the wicketkeeping duties, and Marc Robbins is due to join the squad from the second ODI onward.

BJ Goff (C) (Green)
NS Pickup (vc) (Black)
AP Chaulk (wk) (Black)
CR Butler (Black)
DA Kearsley (Black)
I Markus (Red)
LA Camps (Blue)
MJ Robbins (Red)
DJ Watt (Red)
NS Hoy (Green)
KS Wright (Colts)
RG Verghese (Green)
DP Towns (Colts)
CP Thompson (uncapped) (Black)
Congrats Daniel, there is nobody more deserving than you and I hope you make a huge impact! :D

Congratulations for both Hancock and McNamara also, for leading the first ever full-rookie sides (in FC and OD respectively) for many seasons. I'm confident you'll both do well, and I trust everyone will support them with their best efforts.

On a different note, OJ Cook has been placed on loan to CW Black who have lost 4-5 players to the CWXI ODI squad. I trust he'll do what he can to make the most of this opportunity to work with and learn from some different players, many of them experienced, and also aim to impress for when he returns to our squad. I wish him all the best in his 'bonus' game time. :)

Looking forward to opening the batting with Burke (in FC) and Dizzy (in OD). Hopefully i can find a conbination with Burkey in FC, i think that he is my 5th opening partner. :) Surely someone has to score some runs with me at the other end. Who is the acting vc in the FC game with Jack out, Thomas?
