Disappointing that the first I hear of this is in the tabloids and press. I really hoped you'd have had more respect and even made quiet mention to me.

Yeah I was thinking about e-mailling you. But TBH I don't think I ever have before and you've never e-mailled me either outside of a couple of CC's. Honestly I can understand you wanted to hear it from me through e-mail first and I should have done it come to think of it. I just wasn't sure what it would achieve as I'd still end up moving anyway. But yeah I should have given you a bit more warning. Sorry about that.

Hope you guys still do ok though, no sour grapes from me here at all. Just saw a new opportunity at Black.

Hey guys,

Obviously I haven't been majorly active lately, and it is with regret that I formally announce the end of my stint with Blue, outbound for CW Black. Stedman and Smith approached me on MSN and wouldn't be quiet until I agreed to sign for them. Nevertheless, I appreciate deeply the opportunity given me and the chance I had to prove myself; I can only hope that in the eyes of the selectors, the captain and the board, I have conducted myself with esteem and vigour, and ask your blessing to leave for Black where hopefully my selection will be more forthcoming. Perhaps in the future we shall play under the same cap anew.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Blue; you are all lovely people and I hope you've enjoyed my small contribution throughout the season, and best of luck for the next.

Bah, what were we supposed to do? Losing Fitzsimmons, Butler, Wilson and then Hoy, as well as losing Wawrick and Su to inactivity isn't something you sit on your heels and watch. In some of the cases it was a case of being approached by the player to come to CW Black, and not the other way around as well.

At least involve in the discussion the captains of the teams you're approaching players from. Not because I can stop anyone from leaving Blue, but because it's a common courtesy. Not too keen on reading that players have committed to another club before anyone at Blue has been notified of it.

I'm pretty sure no one at Black was informed in losing the best part of our top 5, regardless of circumstance. Two wrongs don't make a right, of course.

I asked Cloete if he'd be interested in joining Black and he actually said no, but then I came onto Cricketweb and he'd changed clubs thanks to some other CW Black members approaching them of their own accord. I really had little part in it's enventuality.

Armstrong was a different story, though. I asked Stedman if he knew anyone that may be interested in joining Black's slightly lacklustre batting group and he suggested him. It was really over before it began, Stedman asked him while I was present and he asked why, I explained we were really short on batting talent and if he'd like, he could join. I actually urged him to think about it but as I said, it was over before it began. I apologise, I had no real intention to "rape" your squad for players.

What's done is done IMO, you seem to have settled into the responsibility of captaincy well.

'Tis a bit gutting that lots of people seem to be migrating to Black all at once but can't really complain as it's their choice. I won't say I haven't been disappointed how some of the transfers this season have occurred from the players themselves.
