Yeah I was thinking about e-mailling you. But TBH I don't think I ever have before and you've never e-mailled me either outside of a couple of CC's. Honestly I can understand you wanted to hear it from me through e-mail first and I should have done it come to think of it. I just wasn't sure what it would achieve as I'd still end up moving anyway. But yeah I should have given you a bit more warning. Sorry about that.Mr Mxyzptlk said:Disappointing that the first I hear of this is in the tabloids and press. I really hoped you'd have had more respect and even made quiet mention to me.
Yeah, I think he'd be a useful member of the team. Harsh treatment he's copped from the Colts.Travis_Teh said:Just read the colts thread ... should fully try and offer Pitt something to come over. Good prospect.
That's a bit harsh, I just cracked jokes while Stedman motored the mouth. Can talk, can that kid.Mr Casson said:Stedman and Smith approached me on MSN and wouldn't be quiet until I agreed to sign for them.
Bah, what were we supposed to do? Losing Fitzsimmons, Butler, Wilson and then Hoy, as well as losing Wawrick and Su to inactivity isn't something you sit on your heels and watch. In some of the cases it was a case of being approached by the player to come to CW Black, and not the other way around as well.Travis_Teh said:Shame, Casson ..... good luck in the here after. Will be missed, Armstrong was a regular fixture in the OD side as soon as he made his debut.
Outrageous actions from Smith, TBH IMO, to be attempting to (and successfully) poaching players from every other club.
Undermining the league's best interests?
At least involve in the discussion the captains of the teams you're approaching players from. Not because I can stop anyone from leaving Blue, but because it's a common courtesy. Not too keen on reading that players have committed to another club before anyone at Blue has been notified of it.dontcloseyoureyes said:Bah, what were we supposed to do?
"I'm pretty sure no on at Blue gives a **** what you say" ... I apologise for qouting you poorlydontcloseyoureyes said:I'm pretty sure no one at Black was informed in losing the best part of our top 5, regardless of circumstance. Two wrongs don't make a right, of course.
I asked Cloete if he'd be interested in joining Black and he actually said no, but then I came onto Cricketweb and he'd changed clubs thanks to some other CW Black members approaching them of their own accord. I really had little part in it's enventuality.
Armstrong was a different story, though. I asked Stedman if he knew anyone that may be interested in joining Black's slightly lacklustre batting group and he suggested him. It was really over before it began, Stedman asked him while I was present and he asked why, I explained we were really short on batting talent and if he'd like, he could join. I actually urged him to think about it but as I said, it was over before it began. I apologise, I had no real intention to "rape" your squad for players.
What's done is done IMO, you seem to have settled into the responsibility of captaincy well.dontcloseyoureyes said:I apologise, I had no real intention to "rape" your squad for players.
