The Battle of the Commentators

Both are fine though I find Lloyd is a tad overrated whilst Nicholas gets unfairly treated and it's cool to hate him these days. Lloyd will go far in this though.

David Lloyd. Inspite of playing the joker, he talks a lot of cricketing sense and is fun to listen to.

Quick Question, how was it decided who would be up against who in this round?
No problem. It was by random number generator. Each nominated person was listed in the order that they received their seconding and placed in this order in excel. The random number formula was then used, the list sorted by size of random number and then paired up in order (1 vs 2) (2 vs 3) etc. The first half were 1 on 1 and the remainder are three-somes. Hope this helps.

Thanks, what a good way to organise it as it throws in some tough match ups and isn't done purely on personal preference.

In another Humdinger of a battle, a shock sees Jeremy Coney defeat Brian Johnston 7 votes to 6.
I'm thinking we should have just made this a Battle of the Modern Commentators, seeing as the trend seems to be to vote for the guys you've heard. I can understand that point of view, it just seems to defeat the purpose of having the great old timers like Johnners and McGilvray in the comp.

You just beat me to that comment. Its tough enough to appreciate old players who you have seen live or on TV, its very difficult to appreciate commentators you have never heard. But for those of us whohad heard them, the old timers wouldnt have a vote :-O

Nah - I don't think so... I'm personally disappointed that Johnners has been booted out so early, but he got a pretty tough draw against Coney.

I can honestly say that the only commentator in the whole competition that I personally haven't heard is McGilvray. Other than that, I shall have the full weight of my knowledge behind me in judging the tie breakers.

Also, looking at the first round draw, I can only see one battle which I think will be a quick demolision job... There's some real toughies in there.

Thanks. It was the only way I could think of which was fair.
