The Battle of the Commentators

9-9 at the moment.
I make it 10 - 9 at the point you posted the above, Sean. Did you see any double votes, or did you miss Poker Boy's vote? Can someone just double check the count for me?

Based on my count, it is currently 11 - 10 to Richie Benaud, but still a good number of hours of play left for Lloyd to overhaul him.

For Benaud. I mean, it's pretty much accepted Rich isn't quite the force he was but, given the presence of the sadly deceased Arlott & Laker in the comp, I imagined we're voting for the commentators' overall contribution to their field rather than their current form.

On that basis it's Richie by a distance.

Yes, that's why I voted for Richie, can't believe this is so close. He's still one of the premier voices of cricket and is a focal point of many peoples cricket watching throughout the decades. Bumbles just a likable idjit, tbf.

Whatever it takes!!!
As much as I am tempted to vote against Benaud for his recent nonsense, it just won't be justice to see the man who was the voice of cricket for a good while lose out in this competition.

For Benaud. :)

State Vice-Captain
for Lloyd. Benaud's overrated for mine, but maybe I just never heard him at his best. Plus, I can never go past the time Lloyd suggested in Ashes 2001 that a spectator in a crane needed to come down and get himself on terracotta :D :D then the other commentator dude asked him what he expected him to do? Stand on a pot plant
