The ATG World XI's game

Ian Healy - The keeper spot is very tough. Even with Pollock and Lindwall neither of them should bat at 7. So I'm happy enough with Healy to bat there as he always did and he was a great keeper anyway.

International Vice-Captain
Farohk Engineer (Gloves) - With a quality spinner in the side, we need a strong wicketkeeper like Engineer.

Andy Flower - I could select 20 different names for this position given this side is well balanced. Flower is a favourite of mine, however I don't want him selected in as a keeper and will continue to push for him as a specialist bat.

Denis Compton

Quality batsman, and can provide a decent second spin option to the team as well. Between him and Worrell, we have a decent fifth bowler.

Denis Lindsay

Proper wicketkeeper, used to the workload, and produces with the bat, with that workload. If these teams battle against the best, they can't afford to be missing chances.
Agreed completely with Vic.

The winner for the wicketkeeper slot will be Denis Lindsay as I had the last vote. Denis Compton took the batting vote with 6 votes. I placed Compton at 5 because it seemed for more natural for him to be there.

Lindsay over Flower the right decision.

Flower was a serviceable keeper to the likes of Streak and Paul Strang. To expect him to keep against Lindwall, Garner, Pollock and Grimmett would be stretching his ability.

Thanks Jager. The World D XI looks good, I think we need to first work out what batting order is best though.

1) Select the batting order for the World D XI

2) Select the World E XI's number 3 and 4.

3) Select the World E XI's two opening bowlers

Neil Harvey

Strokemaker, super talented, all time great.

Javed Miandad

Fighter who would make any of the aforementioned sides work their **** off to get his wicket.

Andy Roberts

Fearsome fast bowler, with a lot of class. Leader of an attack.

John Snow

Completes my menacing opening bowling attack, relentless and threatening from both ends.
