The ATG Teams General arguing/discussing thread

Are you even aware of who was in the Australian team at the time?

Every one of the batting line-up would be making the WA ATG XI easily
Yes I'm pretty aware. I never even heard of Chris Rogers until he moved to Victoria and started making runs for them

He did play 1 Test match before he moved tbf

If not for Phil Jaques suddenly becoming a world-class batsman for a few years he would have been the one to replace Langer in 2007

Actually brings to mind an interesting and unique question.

If we had to choose, or trust 4 or 5 members to form a selection committee to select a world XI (plus squad) which 5 would you guys choose? Unbiased, pragmatic, a sound understanding of the game, innovative thinkers.

As much as I don't like Northern Districts, you could pick a pretty awesome ND 2010 - present XI.

Two ATGs in Williamson and Watling, a bloke averaging mid 50s in Mitchell (admittedly now moved to Canterbury), and a 5-man attack of Southee, Boult, Wagner, De Grandhomme, Vettori.

Whatever it takes!!!
Its like asking, select 5 ATG Pacers from 90s Indian team.
This reminds me. Sujith Somasundar showed up as a friend suggestion on facebook for me the other day. He is someone all Indian cricket fans should thank for eternity as without him facing upto Donald and McGrath and stinking it up, Ganguly would have never moved up to opening the batting and we wont have had the famed Sachin-Sourav partnership.
