Such a different game now. India's innings SR was 3.34. West Indies chasing 183 had a SR of 2.69, bowled out in the 52nd over for only 140. Unfathomable nowadays.

anyway they're definitely closer to the weakest than the strongest, which someone suggested. Leading up to the SF all the talk was about how terrible they were, how much they relied on 2 batsmen and how lucky they were to even be making the top 4.

Pak 99 were stronger than India 2011, Lanka 96, and India 83. IDK about aus 87.

Probably stronger than Aus 87 tbh. But they were never going to win in 99. After what happened in the super sixes and the semi final, theres never been a side more fated to win the WC.

Ya. It felt like the writing was on the wall at that point. Strong as pak were, it felt like a 2 horse race between rsa and aus after that chaos. But it's overly dismissive to call pak weak. A consequence of them probably being only the third best side in the tournament. But behind rsa and aus in 99, and early windies they are a decent shout for the best odi side ever put together at that stage. I rate them clearly above anyone from 92 or 96.

Undoubtedly.

Incredible bowling attack. For some reason though I thought Mo-Yo played in the final, he played earlier in the tournament.

Playing all of Afridi, Razzaq and Mahmood was probably overdoing the all rounders a bit lol
