Gilchrist

Botham
Warne

I feel botham is a bit under appreciated, his last few tests weren't spectacular but if you compare him to some bowling greats he stands up pretty well. If you take botham's first 60 matches and holdings entire career (60 matches) then botham matches up well. He had a slightly higher average (24.4 compared to holdings 23.68) but botham took 22 more wickets, he took 3 more 4fers, he took 7 more 5fers and 2 more 10fers. Their economy rates were similar, strike rates weren't far apart, to me botham is a very decent pick for an all time team.

Imagine trying to bowl out a team with Botham and Warne at 10 and 11?

Yeah, strangely enough it seems difficult for a regular Test bowler to average > 35

Evil Scotsman
What did Larwood average?

I'm not accusing him of averaging 35 but from memory it was around 28-29 wasn't it?

edit: Bracken a shout for the bowlers? Had a pretty decent FC average from memory and was a great ODI bowler.

Durham (qualification, must simply have played for Durham f/c),

M. Hussey *
David Boon
Sangakkara
Dean Jones
Collingwood
Stokes
Botham
Mustard +
Otis Gibson
Onions
Harmison

(12th Man: Simon Brown)

With Beefy and Stokes there, it doesn't matter if it bats that high. Obviously Sanga only came here for a two-match 'English' tune-up, but he still qualifies by my criteria, so why not?

Durham (min 20 matches f/c),

Di Venuto
Jennings
Collingwood
Benkenstein*
Stokes
Botham
Mustard +
Gibson
Onions
Brown
Harmison

(Twelfth Man: Rushworth)

Obviously this team relies on recent history. Jennings automatically gets in for 2016 - it is really that simple.
