Crucial try to Lowrey 30 seconds before the break - to be honest the Blues hadn't looked like scoring up until that point with far too much side-to-side play rather than the direct approach Lowrey took. Cooper's been outstanding with ball in hand, though on the other hand his missed kicks have kept the Blues within touching distance.

Clinical from the Reds for 79 1/2 minutes, thoroughly deserving winners. Blues might've had ample possession but they used the ball poorly. Would've liked to have seen Ranger given more chances with ball in hand after he came on, looked the most dangerous on the field besides Cooper and Davies. Fair to say I shot myself in the foot changing my tip!

You'd have to say that was dumb football from the Blues from start to finish. A more than well deserved victory to the Reds.
With all this young Australian talent coming through, the future looks very bright for the Wallabies. The way the South African sides have been playing this competition as well, I'm getting quite concerned about how the men in black are going to go come Tri-Nations and World Cup time.

The Bulls won the competition last year and the Springboks then won 1 from 6 Tri Nations matches, so only so much Super Rugby form translates to test rugby. Keep in mind also that if you were to merge the Super Rugby table, New Zealand sides finished 3-4-8-9-10, with Australian and South African sides sitting exclusively in the bottom 5 spots. I think the ABs will still be overwhelming favourites to win the WC (and Tri Nations) irrespective of the result of the Super 15 (and indeed irrespective of whether any New Zealand sides are actually in the final).
As for the Blues' effort tonight, you're absolutely right. Whoever wins the match in Cape Town in a few hours will definitely travel to Brisbane with a better gameplan. With regard to the Blues, I mentioned a few weeks back, and was semi serious with the point, that Toeava was the catalyst in their loss of form. I'm a big Toeava fan (although realise most NZers outside of Auckland aren't) but I feel the lack of his (and Ranger's to a degree) impact was a big factor in the Blues' poor form in the final two months of the season.

Top, top performance from the Crusdaers. Defensive effort in the first 20 was immense and thereafter, they just dominated. Skill sets were on a different level as well, so evident in the Fruean try. Hard to remember any Stormers player offloading in the tackle, bunch of bosh merchants. Sean Maitland looks a real star, must be a bolter for the WC.
