I've read Sunny even saved a family during riots in Bombay.I don't think Sunny is a that bad person, but I can't call someone who can't control their ****ing mouth and have the ego costing team chances, good either. Not just the WI quote, what he said post David Hookes' death was way worse.
why was he booed.Sunny is a loyal family man. Simply saying he is a bad person because of one racist taunt is ridiculous.
After Kolkata fans booed him and his wife, he vowed never to play there and even opted out of an India-Pakistan clash there.
It was because of his influence that his brother in law played for more years despite failing in last stages and also helped his less talented son to play for India.
He also protected people from the mob by putting his life on the line.
For benching Kapil Dev (totally deserved that imo)why was he booed.
He dropped Kapil.why was he booed.
Yeah and he does have some philanthropic works. As I said, necessarily not a bad person, but not much good either.I've read Sunny even saved a family during riots in Bombay.

I have argued that previously, but then realised he went way overboard there. Calling a crowd of primarily black people "monkeys" is extremely tone deaf at best and blatantly racist at worst. And him asking the crowd to clap for him.......The fans in stadium provoked the bowlers and asked them to kill batsmen by bowling bouncers to batsmen in an era when there was no protective equipment.
A batsman was already injured and the fans wanted bowlers to further injure batsmen. Calling such blood thirsty fans as barbarians, mob and displaying monkey behaviour isn’t racist.
Just imagine 20,000 people in the crowd telling the bowlers to kill Kohli..with bouncer.. what would come in his mind?I have argued that previously, but then realised he went way overboard there. If Bumrah hit Root on the head and people cheered for it, would you support Root calling Indians animals and monkeys?Just imagine 20,000 people in the crowd telling the bowlers to kill Kohli..with bouncer.. what would come in his mind?
What about the 74/75 crowd to Lillee and Thommo chanting 'Kill, Kill'?If Bumrah hit Root on the head and people cheered for it, would you support Root calling Indians animals and monkeys?
I mean Yeah, Australian crowd is ruthless, they also were when Johnson was destroying England with ease, nobody called it animalistic obviously as that's the nature of pace heavy nations. I bet if Gavaskar was a white man playing for England or Australia, we'd never hear the end of it about that comment but he's slightly brown so there's layers of defense. What about the 74/75 crowd to Lillee and Thommo chanting 'Kill, Kill'?
They didn't say Kill Kill and it was very unexpected from the West Indians , they even considered it unethical against Australia when Lillee and Thomson used it.If Bumrah hit Root on the head and people cheered for it, would you support Root calling Indians animals and monkeys?
I know you like viv but be honest. 5 (or 8 if you include wsc) is a very disappointing number for a batsman with his reputation of destroying ATGs. And this in a thread where you've just posted about how tons vs atg bowlers are an important milestone when you were talking about Lara.I mean, that is perfectly fine, and thats if we don't count his against peak Botham.
