Should i start a new affiliate? Was gonna wait a little while considering my primary club only just started. But now unsure if i should just build the clubs together.

I would wait for a season, see how you like the development model and enjoy the game itself, then invest in an affiliate. It's quite a bit more work juggling two sides.

CWC2 XI at the halfway stage:

Sajith D Estandau (ZCC) / 257 runs @ 85.7
Hashan de Melho (ZCC) /+ 104 runs @ 52
Yau Tin* (Five Demands) / 237 runs @ 39.5
Raun Shkorer (ZCC) / 260 runs @ 86.7, 14 sixes
Gwong Long (Morpork) 108 runs @ 21.6, 5 runs
Michael Spavor (Five Demands) /o 89 runs @ 29.7, 4 sixes, 12 wickets
Arif Jalal (ZCC) /o 13 wickets @ 8.1 (ER 4.1)
Christian Owen (Schmaltzberg) /o 18 runs, 13 wickets @ 6.4 (ER 5.3)
Fred Clarke (Morpork) /o 8 wickets @ 6.3 (ER 6.3)
Yin Lai O (Five Demands) /o 15 wickets @ 8.6 (ER 6.2)
Bikswing Nouding (ZCC) o 6 wickets @ 8.1 (ER 4.1)

Some explanatory selection calls: tough vote between de Melho, Mthabela and Winton's sold Dickens for the wk/opener spot, I went with de Melho as he hasn't really got out. Long doesn't have a consistent record in CWC2, but had that big clutch innings of 47 (26) against ZCC, so I went with him over Furqan in the hitter-batsman spot.

The bowlers have been picked mainly for their big spells, except for the one niggler in Schmaltzberg's Owen. Could have gone for Zahid or Moon here but their ER hasn't been stellar and Owen at least in theory provides some batting. Nouding gets in on the basis that he has literally only played in the games against the top half of the table and done great new ball work when he did, Jalal to share the new ball with him.

Others who were considered: Michael Kovrig, Shahbaz Furqan, Hashim Zahid, Arif Jalal, Chung Yiu, Ryan Moon, Nat Judge, Shanuka Kurusumuttu, Nalin Mittur, Dani?l Potgieter, Dwayne Dickens, Steve Stiller

FHK need more wheels in this chase.
We got there in the final over! Superb win chasing 275 away from home. Their pitch conditions are similar to 5DNOL though, perhaps just a bit better for batting, so it really was just a game to see which one of us had better built our team to suit the conditions. Our spinners did well (O Yin, Shum and Kovrig took 5-126 in their 24 overs), but they batted deep and got stuck into the seamers to put an above-par score on the board. We lost both openers cheaply as well, but then the three veteran bats all got scores to take us home. Qasim Abdullah (69 off 79), Tin Yau (84 off 93) and Michael Kovrig (79* off 57) scored 84% of the runs, and Spavor chipped in with a nice 21 to help get us over the line. With 2 to win in the last over Kovrig took a single first ball, and Ivan Lam hit the winning run on the 4th. It must be said the Canada Airstrikers dropped a ton of catches, especially in those final nervy few overs of the chase.

That win helps in the relegation battle. We are still in 6th place, but now 3 points behind 5th with 3 games to go. Got to keep winning.

the Moooo dev team has been set 179 against Dynamo Schmaltzberg.

Would have been slightly happier with the performance if E Xtras wasn't second highest scorer with 40, but it is what it is, the boys can't bat yet

International Coach
Well that's the end of the Stumped! week. I had 3 Dev friendlies to end it, playing the same 36.2/36.4K side against The Merry Orangutans, The Clay, and Winton CC. In an odd turn of events, I lost the two matches vs 29.4K and 28.6K-rated sides and won the match against a 39.4K side.

In the TMO match, they registered a 25-run win. Jalal Farhat (45 off 93) and Hetal Tyagi (47 off 64) took @StephenZA's side to 164-9. However, five batsmen couldn't get off the mark. Four of my bowlers took two wickets apiece, with Liam Kotze's economical 2-19 the highlight. The chase was a rather sorry affair, as Jeroen Viljoen (3-21) and Sanjeewa Samaranayake (3-17) dismantled my batting lineup on a very worn pitch. The Farhat-Tyagi partnership proved key to TMO getting their first win against AXI.

The Clay match was rather odd, with their Muhammad Aziz' 5-15 (4 overs) the highlight. I'm not going to go into a non-CW match further, other than that they accomplished a 7-wicket win.

I got a 51-run win in the WCC match, rather a surprise considering how the other two matches had unfolded. Ghous Saadi got 71 (81) and Kurt Murdoch an incredible 81 (50) as my batting finally fired. There was not much support outside of my top 4 though, as Nuwan Soosaipillai (4-19) dismantled my tail. 232 all out. Edward Lever of WCC (65 off 86) resisted, but they also suffered a batting collapse. Ant Mitchell removed their middle order with 5-38, as they ended up 181 all out. Happy with that.

Tough times ahead for AXI, with 3 human competitives this week. Hope I can win two of them and gear up for some decent EOS prize-money.

Played two friendly development games this weekend. Got my first win over @ataraxia development side, which was a great achievement. Lost to an invigorated Mooo side in an exciting game where Lee Homer played a fantastic counter attacking innings to take the game away from the MTO's @SillyCowCorner1.

The current condition of the MTO home track is not up to standard, but covers have just been bought and my groundmans is on his second training course.

Development game today is against a tier 1 team, their last dev game they put out a team close to 60 000 in rating. Not expecting a great deal just hoping to take the game long!

Query when sending a friendly challenge... is the home/away selection for you or opponent?

Excellent turnout for CWC Season 3 here. If no one else signs up we are going to have a 20-week long competition. In hindsight I should have structured it so that we played twice a week instead of once. Maybe for Season 4 onwards.

If we need an even number happy to create my affiliate now and join?

My dev game has only about an 8000 point rating ahead of me... but that largely because his batting tail has a rating of around 12 000.

I don't think we need an even number, but it would be nice to avoid bye weeks

Let me PM @jan in-game and see if he would like to join. That would help round out the 12. I don't think morgieb or jimmy will be continuing with the game anymore, and basically everyone else has already signed up.

So the quality of the bowling (as indicated on score card) is that relative to opposition or straight based on player performance in the match.

It's relative I believe, also effected by pitch condition (ie its not that they bowled 7.5 quality in helpful conditions, the bowling was 7.5 quality because of helpful conditions)

yesssss we beat Sun Warriors in DEV

captain Martijn van Heerdens' gentle fingerspin paid rewards with a 5/21 as they were bowled out in 31 overs for a meagre 164 on a friendly wicket

Louis Kotze opened the chase well, then when he got out and Marita followed in quick succession Menno Fouche steadied things with a chanceless 37 not out

weird little Tamil-NZ allrounder project Savundrayagam managed 3/36 too

dude has been pummeling me in SOD too with his youth strategy so that was...sweet ngl

My affiliate, GG CC, with an impressive performance today.
Batting first, they racked up 290 for 8 off their allotted over, with Bran Human making 85 off 51 balls (10x4, 3x6) and Peter Sutherland with a run-a-ball 44

In reply, Aston CC could only muster 230 as the rate required got out of hand early. Nirav Sanyukta with 89 off 66 for them...bowling for GG CC, captain Ernst Levy with 3 for 39(6.1) & Sebastian Plaatjes with 2 for 38(8)
