Stumped!

I think not being able to clean up the tail is gonna be the game changing moment of this match.

My guys are low on batting confidence to chase anything above 150

FHK end up with 213/8 in their 40 overs, a brilliant recovery from 80/5 in 21 overs, mainly thanks to Nathan Law. He hammered 118 off 78 balls, and dominated a 121 run 6th wicket partnership with Ivan Lam, who chipped in with a useful 36 off 50 himself. Sampath Ramalingam was the only bowler who was remotely effective - 8-2-36-4.

In response, ZCC are struggling at 52/3 in 14 overs. Looks like FHK are set for a comprehensive victory.

Good win for Mooo that. 187 was never going to be enough runs for HH. Love that HH rated 53K in Fielding tho! Pretty remarkable.

FHK ended up thrashing ZCC by 55 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the Tiananmen Memorial Series. Grobbelaar (50 off 75) and Garner (47 off 41) battled for a bit but 214 was always going to be too many runs vs FHK's bowling. Needed runs from Ahsan and Halliday if they were going to chase it, and neither of them could capitalize on their starts. Three run-outs didn't help either (two to 'Bullet Arm' Agnes Chow!). Nathan Law POTM for his career-highest 118 off just 78 balls.

Had an OD vs @Marcuss' team. A good all-round bowling performance and two crucial run outs left the Astronauts 128 all out. Highlight was Gary Cricket's 43 (76). The chase was completed with ease by Rusty Frost (28 off 52), Bobby Shaffrey (55* off 97), and Nicky Clift (39* off 43) as a nine-wicket win unfolded. Marcuss is unlucky that it panned out that way.

I'm just starting a T20 vs Winton CC. Managed to bump up my rating to 46.4K, but it's not a side I particularly like or will have for long, especially as I'm considering dispensing with Austin Hyde's services.

Skill increase is starting to feel a little arbitrary! Squad went up 18 skill this week with no decrease. But the one man I desperate to increase had his fielding increase and not his wk!

I just set up a friendly Dev game against my affiliate team, which I know we'll lose. The affiliate, GG CC, is one bunch of talented lads. Supremely more rated than my guys. I hoping for a decent outing.

That will be on 06 Jun 00:00

van Heerdens has put up the cheap trash wickets, I feel if this partnership gets going we'll have a decent target to chase regardless

In that WCC T20 it was a fairly comfortable win for me against a side rated better than mine. Takaedza Eugene (39 off 30), Rob Tweddle (55 off 35), and Brendan Studsor (27 off 26) couldn't quite capitalise on varying degrees of good starts. Juan Goliath decimated WCC's batting late in the innings with 4-23, Steve Ludlow got 2-23, and Rusty Frost snagged 2-29.'

The chase was an odd little affair. Captain/wicketkeeper/opener Bobby Shaffrey hit 76 (46) to provide the platform, but there were two very different ways of partnering him. Craig Aylmer couldn't get going with 26 (31), but Nicky Clift showed his class with 31* (13). Daniel Fletcher took two out of the three wickets to fall. That's consecutive wins against close-to-or-at-full-strength WCC in T20s, coolio.

In the SOD against Dynamo Morpork 192 all out from me will likely prove a sub-par total. But there are good signs nevertheless. Shaffrey hits 42 (72), Kurt Murdoch 47* (57), and #10 Steve Ludlow somehow manages 35 (29) against 55K death bowling. Every DyMo bowler got a wicket.

Nicky Clift had part in the first two Dynamo wickets to fall. I thought I'd be okay not setting orders... but playing three spinners on a 90 moisture pitch was never going to go well and third spinner Ndaba got smacked at 9 an over. Morpork are cruising at 131-3; Shingirai Msomi got 38 (42) before falling to Austin Hyde, while skipper Jayant Marita is 42* (73).

Just 10 pops this week, and 2 decreases, but still some highlights like future stalwart wicketkeeper Zac Chambers getting 3 pops.

Letting Ludlow slash 35 is just uuugh. Clearly there's something terribly wrong with my death bowlers.

Marita is a new acquisition (cost nearly 1m oops) and I was kinda hoping he could be club captain from 4 but something is clearly keeping him from scoring the big runs

edit: in not too much of a whine as my bowling attack clearly does mostly work but Clarke remains incredibly frustrating, can take 6/15 on his day but also get smacked about for 16 by a tailender

Ludlow smashing 35, running out Marita, and bowling 8 overs for 12 runs is truly awesome. Also lol at the 3 MotM contenders all being from my team despite losing.

Over at my affiliate team, GG CC. They were up against a bot team and smash they did.

The Free Flamingoes bundled out for 60, with extras top scoring (19). Lalu Tanu made 8(44).

Bowling for GG CC, Roger Attlee picked up 4 for 12 off 7 over, supported by Christo Theron with 3 for 8 off 6.3 overs.

GG CC got to the target of 61 in 9.1 overs, with skipper Ernst Levy leading with 23*(34).

This win takes GG CC to second place in div 3.8 with 42 points.
