So ZCC need 322 to make it to the next round of the Cup

Bit of a gamble opting to bowl first, but I figured our chances of winning were slightly higher chasing on a flat pitch than defending. Let's see how wrong I am...

290 a/o in 48.5 :( Lost Shahbaz and Sajith inside the first 5 overs. Spectacular ton by Danial Ahsan and good knocks by Raun and Samra but just not enough batting firepower. Ghous Ghani would have made a big difference. Sigh

hard slog for FHK batting first vs Morpork at Treacle Mine Road today. We've gone in without the veterans Kovrig and Abdullah, but are struggling at 74/4 in 26 overs. 200 seems out of the question, we're going to need to bowl exceptionally well to win this. 100/32/96 suggests most of the damage will need to be done with the new ball...

lol at Chunky. Also Moooo winning with a nb6 when tied caused me to double take. And AX-W being in any sort of contention with a −3 RR is pretty great

Yea I never try to lose, but sometimes we need to get more overs/batting into the less-developed players and that can skew results.

I wouldn't go as far as saying try to lose but if I know I'm up against a far better team will often bowl first and have a weakend XI solely focused on potential rather than ability.

Sent out a bunch of friendlies (@honestbharani, you've received one :)).

With both squad sizes ballooning out to 22, the management of AXI and AX-W decided to play a double-header last Sunday between the 1sts and 2nds. It was definitely interesting.

In the premier match, AXI piled up the runs. Simmonds made 78, Winton 53, and Murdoch 51. Arthur Branning came to the middle in the final 10 overs to help bring the score up to 340. He walloped and walloped the poor bowlers. Needing five to reach an insane century off the last ball of the innings, he edged a half-volley behind. Needless be said, it was still an incredible knock and one which AX-W did not and could not recover from. An (arbritary) slice of it was an 11-ball 50. Beat that.

The seconds match was highlighted by many players hitting runs which they wouldn't have had access to otherwise. (And by a total of 17 bowlers being used, lol.) Of AXI, Eddie Oakes' 39, Benjamin Butler's 70, Liam Kotze' 53, and Tharaka Sellamuttu's 21* were all SOD friendly HSi. As were James Mortimer's 61, Mark Hurst's 53 (+ 5-30 makes it a 196-pointer game -- he seems to want back into the senior arena), Jacobus Kruger's 28, and Ian Green's 36 -- all of AX-W. A lot of these were also long-awaited debuts in the format; there haven't been as many chances given out in recent times. Oh and yes, AXI won fairly comfortably.

AX-W also played a weakened Pirates lineup on Sunday. John Ward's 5-24 helped us bundle them out for 96, and we could chase that down -- but not without a little wobble.

To be determined just came in a sniped Waldo for $446K... about double what I expected to sell him for. @Marcuss I`m actually glad the Pirates did not get him because that is much too much money. I have better players in my squad (3 of them) that I payed half that amount for.
