South Africa Domestic Season 2024/25

It was what I was thinking. Also maybe things have got too comfortable in the playing squad as they've been together for quite some time now. Erwee, Zondo, Smith, Miller, Ackerman, Maharaj, Subrayen, Bosch, Baartman, Dupavillon etc Phehlukwayo just left.

Smuts came in & has always been a handy domestic cricketer. They would be hoping to see van Staden, Parsons, Pillay, Simelane, Luus be their next gen+ another decent U19 group coming through now.
They a better squad ,team on paper than everyone barring maybe Titans, lions and neck and neck with warriors and dragons on paper imho.

Moreki is the frustrating one. Given, he isn't great but he was playing regularly and the best cricket of his career. We picked him up when he was low and he leaves us for the 2nd time where you could argue he won't play regularly.

I would consider just strengthening the batting and fielding and keeping Nyaku in the team over Nabe today with Mpongwana coming back.
100% Nyaku does his bits and pieces , kitme seems a club player so sacrifice him at the top and Mpongwana our only talented and homegrown guy.

Weird re Copeland what is his ethnicity as he is deemed a baf, like Tony maybe ? Feel sorry for Daniel Smith, vallie and kitme should not be ahead of him.

Boland beating Dolphins comfortably.

Roelofsen and the impressive Kaplan with a little helping hand of Mgijima made the run chase easy.

WP easy win over NW Dragons.

Rain unfortunately stopped Warriors 250 chase v Knights which would have been tricky.

Forrester has had a bit of a rough patch lately glad he has returned to form
Definitely has something about him so good that he is proving he is capable at this level.

It's the beauty of the new system that it widens the pool so even if his team get relegated there will be other Div 1 teams looking at him. Saying that, you would like to see loyalty to Provinces as well.

I was chatting with mates, the sad fact is in the modern world players will go where there is more money & greater challenges for their development. You don't see any Free State Cheetahs in the Springboks rugby squad anymore either. They get pinched after high school going to the bigger 4. Same for EP & Border rugby.

Lions squad depth is interesting. Nqaba Peter 12thy last game & not sure if Evan Jones is injured or only fancied for T20s. The others are Moe Manack (bat), Khaya Fakude (bat), Zack Momberg (seamer all-rounder).
