With Jones, though, you get the feeling he would be more effective than Sidebottom (though in a totally different way) if all were indeed now to be going well again, which it's time to just start wondering whether it actually might be.

I can't ever see either Anderson or Broad being better than Sidebottom given all matters being equal. But Jones has looked on occasion as if he might just be something a bit special.
