"Lara, who had gone into the Test following scores of 0, 4, 0 and 17, nursed a troubled shoulder and a niggling hamstring throughout the memorable 260-minute innings to lift the West Indies after three wickets had fallen for 86 runs." Further: "Despite struggling with a chronic hamstring strain that has plagued him for five months, Lara showed his determination to regain his touch with a double-century last weekend against Australia A.

" 'My hamstring has been bothering me for five to six months but I’ve only missed one one-day international because of it,’ "Lara said.

" 'The main thing is you’re there to play cricket for your country and whatever the circumstances are you’ve got to stick it out.' " Context is everything.....
Ok but I normally bring up the 1996 series as the example where he was owned. 2000 is just an add on.

Yeah but context should matter for everyone. Lara got owned in 1996-97 i agree but in 2000 he was clearly injured but no one not you not Subs gives him a pass for that. That's being hypocritical.

In any event, it doesn't change the fact that Lara was significantly better vs McGrath than Sachin 45 >36.
What did I do? 🤔
