Heh, so because Ikki and TumTum (according to you) don't criticise Ponting, that means it has become taboo to criticise him? Solid argument.

Calling someone a "Sachin Basher" for literally no reason is hardly a fact. All it is emotionally reactive bull****.

lol.. first of all, I don't think Ikki and TumTum are wrong to hold their opinions. I juz meant that everytime someone criticizes Ponting or so on, these guys post to defend him. And honestly, nothing wrong with that if they feel the person criticizing is wrong when compared to the facts.


And I said Sachin bashing only because you said I was a Sachin fanboy. Obviously, I think one is as true or untrue as the other. :p

Haha, even by recent standards, I reckon if we as a group can degenerate this thread, then we've set the bar at an all time low. He (Tendulkar) has done something that he feels is right, and I think good on him. Actually I think everyone does, it's just a matter of how people think that should be taken that's the point of difference. And it's so small a point that it likely doesn't matter at all. Though again, l believe Lara and Ponting's stances on these moral issues are slightly better than Tendulkar's, and if you like I shall provide statistical proof.




* I do wish to reiterate that this was completely in jest, and not in the slightest bit meant to be taken seriously - not one bit :)

Whatever the case may be with Ikki and TumTum, that doesn't at all suggest that criticising Ponting has become Taboo (which was your original point). I would argue that, if anything, Ponting is probably a greater target of criticism than most.

And yes I called you a Sachin fanboy precisely because you were accusing me of "bashing" him when I wasn't.

I think he's just saying you are a defender of Ponting's mate. It's not a personal slight on you. HB can speak for himself in that regard, but I'm pretty sure I'm right in saying that.

yah.. this is pretty much it. As I said, I don't fnd it particularly wrong either. I mean a lot of offhand comments and accusations are often thrown up over specific players here at CW and mostly they are not based on too many facts either.. I just meant that in general, if you were criticize a Ponting, there are a few posters who generally defend him (rightly or wrongly is another story) and that doesn't mean they are all Ponting fanboys.. The same thing here with Sachin and myself..



Gotta tell you though, being called a "Sachin fanboy" has really made my day.. Who would have thought it after all those Lara Vs Sachin or Richards Vs Sachin threads.. :laugh:

Criticizing Sachin ain't taboo either.. I have personally found him at fault so many times... I just meant that your comment that he declined this simply because he had a lot of money than any moral stand was wrong as prior precedent exists of him declining such offers, when he had a LOT lesser money than right now..
