Rugby League Tri-Nations 2005

You'll Never Walk Alone
Heh, was shocked to see it 0-18 also. Tate`s first try is one of the best I`ve seen this year.

the game changed when a kiwi try to take them to 22-0 up was not even referred to video ref.
Odd decision, considering you could see Webster knew where he was putting the ball and from his body language was VERY confident. He thought he'd scored and the Aussies weren't exactly looking too optimistic, so mr Ganson should of asked the video ref to have a peek. But he IS from St Helens, and we only create idiots....

they should have gone to the video ref for that NZ no try, but i dont think he got it down anyway...
Gasnier's try was fair enough, could have gone either way but i think it was probably right, as king goes over :D

Vagana's tackle was a bit naughty, wasn't it? That's a ban methinks.

& what a horlicks that was! Christmas comes early for King. 8-)

What a kick! Think that's the ball game. Been a good 'un. NZ looked dead on their feet after Gasnier went over, Kennedy's mistake at the play-the-ball looks like being crucial. :)

Well done to Mike McClennan's son. :)
Top game. New Zealand deserved to win, but both teams looked a bit frail in places.
I bet Brian Noble wishes he had the Keiron Cunningham of 2001 after seeing New Zealand make those breaks from dummy half when they got the quick play the ball going.

I'm bored. So I'll predict the GB squad.

Paul Wellens (Fullback, St Helens)
Richie Mathers (Fullback, Leeds)
Brian Carney (Winger, Wigan)
Mark Calderwood (Winger, Leeds)
Leon Pryce (Winger/Centre, Bradford)
Martin Gleeson (Centre, Warrington)
Chev Walker (Centre, Leeds)
Iestyn Harris (Stand Off, Bradford)
Danny McGuire (Stand Off, Leeds)
Paul Deacon (Scrum Half, Bradford)
Rob Burrow (Scrum Half, Leeds)
Adrian Morley (Prop, Sydney Roosters)
Nick Fozzard (Prop, St Helens)
Jamie Thackray (Prop, Hull) or Eorl Crabtree (Prop, Huddersfield)
Stuart Fielden (Prop, Bradford)
Paul Anderson (Prop, St Helens)
Keiron Cunningham (Hooker, St Helens)
Malcolm Alker (Hooker, Salford)
Jamie Peacock (Captain, 2nd Row, Bradford)
Lee Gilmour (2nd Row, St Helens)
Danny Tickle (2nd Row, Wigan)
Gareth Ellis (2nd Row, Leeds)
Kevin Sinfield (Loose Forward/Stand Off, Leeds)
Paul Cooke (Loose Forward/Stand Off, Hull)

I am biased, but no Richard Horne? Shaun Briscoe's been pretty top-drawer for us too.
I'd have Horne ahead of McGuire, too... and Thorman of Huddersield ahead of Burrow, maybe Briscoe for Pryce, definitely no Paul Cooke (cheating scumbag) but I predicted the squad, not chose who I'd play, and little Brian loves his Bradford and Leeds players.

Ah, got you. On that basis Senior's a shoe-in too, he's supposed to be fit next week.

You little beauty. I don't know where you poms found that referee but he was deadset awful. Should be made to swim home.

18-0, kiwis about to put the game away before half time, Webster goes over in the corner despite Trent Waterhouse tackling him from an offside position, and the git awards a 20 metre restart to the aussies. The kiwis a fired up, Toopi makes a great rugby league tackle, jolts the ball loose, and gets penalised. From there Aus put 4 tries on us in quick succession.

Still, didn't matter and the better side won. See, NZ play as a unit, as a team, as a family. They were hungrier. Aus didn't seem all that interested and paid the price. I think they turned up expecting to win.

Lockyer has to go if they want to win the next match. He was dreadful, and has been for the last two months.

England, obviously. We don't do good referees....or even mediocre ones.

Especially not St Helens. We make good players and good glass, but ***** refs

His too good to just leave out, they should put him back at fullback and play Barrett at five-eigth (or stand off for guys in England :@ ). But apprently he had a shocker against NZ A.

On the win, who needs Benji Marshall, when you have Brent Webb, where did that performance come from, he had a blinder, as did Toopi who i thought would be a weakness too.
