Didn't he play 5/8 in the semi against the Dragons? I remember he was at least defending there. He has also played there in a test I think.

His played there in a test twice, first one the fullback got injured inside the first 10 minutes and they put him at fullback for the rest of the game. Second one they have had a play maker on the bench so he only played there for twenty minutes or something. His started there a couple times from memory.

Kiwis team is ****. Not happy at all. Why no Koopu and Puletua? Also I can't believe they picked Toopi. Should have picked Tony at 6, (he got the Warriors to a grand final playing there, remember) Vagana at centre and left out Toopi.

Rubbish. Tony and Jones in the halves.. Sure attacking wise it would be great, but we would conceed at least 40 points.

Toopi shouldn't have been picked. It was unfourtunate that Soioala (sp) got injured and can't play.

Its the usual story. Clubs controlling availability of players and too many injuries really tests the depth of NZ rugby league.

Its funny how the Australian side never have a problem when they select players, yet every year NZ seem to have 3 or 4 players pulled out because their clubs want them to have surgery.

Nigel Vagana at 5/8 just shows how bad NZ are off at the moment.
When we do get a full strength side, I think we'll go well. We desperately need someone in the half-back position to come through and maybe a good winger.

Wing is fine IMO. The young Warriors winger Vatuvai is a gun and remember we have Vanikolo, Webster is a good player and Matt Utai. But I agree halfback is an issue.

The Aussies have injuries this year as well, it's just that they have so much depth that they can replace their players so easily.

Is anyone acutally going to watch this game? Footy season is over. I don't see the point in playing these tri nation games every year. Perhaps if the NRL season was shorter and these were played almost straight after the grand final and well before the cricket season started then there would be more interest in these games. But quite frankly I don't care what happens.

Nobody will care about this, until GB & NZ genuinely have a chance of winning. GB will do ok at home, but i'd fully expect them to get smashed down here.

I care. I love watching my country play league. For me its the biggest game of league for the year, bar the home game against the Broncos which marked our 10 year aniversary.

If you're a true league fan you'll care :p

Unfortunately, I'll be out so I won't get to watch it :(

Why do people say that? The pitch is still the same size, the ball the same shape, and I assume the players opposite them would be the same players as would come over here. Why would we get smashed down there yet do ok up here?

Defence from both teams has been a bit iffy, but it's made for an exciting game! Big comeback from Oz.

Had to open my gob & tempt fate, didn't I?! :D

Couldn't believe it when I turned it on and saw us up 18-0!! Since then though, its been crap. We had that try in the corner disallowed for no apparent reason, the ref didn't even call for the tv replay, and then the Ockers get one in the corner and suprise, suprise they get the try even though it was highly doubtful that he stayed in the field of play.

Typical of NZ teams...have it all over the opposition and then go to sleep

the game changed when a kiwi try to take them to 22-0 up was not even referred to video ref.

I think New Zealand's was very solid until the interchanges started coming on. The starting forwards bossed the Aussies and, imo, they lost some momentum when Cayless, Solomona, Asotai and Faiumu came on. Some HUGE gaps appeared in their defence.

Anyone else think Minchello's pass (to Waterhouse?) in the build up to Tate's second looked slightly forward? Or is it just those funny angles you have the cameras at over there?
