The list is at least gaining some credibility with the belated appearance of Trueman and Lillee after the laughable top 5 included McGrath, Ambrose and Hadlee.
Imran appearing in the top 10 bowlers of all time would be the last straw so I'm voting for Barnes.
Hmm, you don't think Imran is a top ten bowler? I think he would be in easily.

Lillee is easily worse in almost every area than Hadlee, McGrath and Ambrose.

Actually it lost credibility when Lillee got in front of some quality bowlers that should have been there.

Joel Garner and Imran Khan both should be in front of Lillee. And with McGrath, its not even close, he's miles and miles ahead.

What the hell? McGrath, Ambrose and Hadlee are superior to Lillee in every way. I don't know too much about Trueman but I know he was a quality bowler, up there with McGrath and Hadlee. Ambrose is my only doubt about the top 5 but these things happen. Honestly, you need to think before you post and not just post your opinion in such a strong way.

I thought posting our own opinions is what we are here for. Ambrose, Hadlee and McGrath are not superior to Lillee in any way at all - I'm just stating my opinion based on seeing these players in action and not just getting stats from Google.

We are here to post our opinion, but when you post it and say that some of the best bowlers of all time are "laughable" makes you seem ridiculous and people won't listen to you. Lillee was, as somebody mentioned a whilen ago, "a ***y bowler".

Lillee was, as somebody mentioned a whilen ago, "a ***y bowler".
And you are trying to convince this chick that '***y bowler' ! = 'better bowler' ?
Good luck !
Listen-when it comes to sports, there are always some chicks around who'd take the '***y factor' and run with it- note the popularity of Safin(though he deserves most of it), the female fanbase of Simon Jones, etc etc.
Its a lost cause i tell ya. If she found Merv Hughes ***y,she'd find a way to leapfrog him ahead of a heap of better qualified bowlers.

What a worthless post. Three cheers for ***ism, right?8-)
***ism ?
Pfft. Look mate- i dont let this politically correct nonsense get in the way of facts.
Its a FACT that sports is mostly dominated by men ( and if you think thats ***ist, find out how popular is women's cricket, soccer, hockey, basketball, etc etc) and there are many many girls out there who put the '***yness' charecteristic above all.
Just like there are guys who'd prefer a particular ice skater or gymnast over another simply because she's a lot hotter, despite her being inferior in skills.
You'd be deluding yourself if you thought ***ual attraction doesnt play a part in how one rates a sports person. Just that girls are a lot more prone to it than guys because there arnt as many top level women's sports getting top level exposure as top level men's sports.

Barnes earns a well-deserved place in the top ten.

The List
1. Malcolm Marshall (WI)
2. Muttiah Muralitharan (SRI)
3. Glenn McGrath (AUS)
4. Curtly Ambrose (WI)
5. Richard Hadlee (NZ)
6. Shane Warne (AUS)
7. Fred Trueman (ENG)
8. Dennis Lillee (AUS)
9. Sydney Barnes (ENG)

The vote for the #10 bowler of all-time begins now.

The Contenders

International Captain
10. Alan Donald

Edit: Donald because:

Alan Donald: 72 Tests, 330 wkts @ 22.25, SR 47.0, 4.58 wkts/match
Imran Khan: 88 Tests, 362 wkts @ 22.81, SR 53.7, 4.11 wkts/match

Donald has a better average, a far superior Strike rate and a much higher wkts/match ratio, despite Imran carrying his attack (& like Hadlee should then take more wkts per match).
