Quick World ATG XI draft- No Bradman

Red

The normal awards that everyone else has
Wanted a strong captain, and the Larwood-Jardine connection was just too good to pass up on. Plus he averaged 49 with the bat (over 60 when batting at 5), and I think his style of play would complement the top 4, and link the top order to the middle.

Could have gone with Paynter, but opted for him instead. Means I don't have to shoulder the captaincy on Lindwall - he can just bowl.
Hopefully someone selects Woodful in this last bit of the draft!

Cricketer Of The Year
Graham Gooch

1. Graham Gooch
2. Len Hutton
3. Ricky Ponting
4. Jark Kallis
5. Archie Jackson
6. Shiv Chanderpaul
7. Matt Prior
8. Mike Procter
9. Wilfred Rhodes
10. Malcolm Marshall
11.

Shaping up to be a reasonably solid batting line up. And a good mix of the solid and the attacking.

Smelly is online now but not posting
Actually, I'm hoping that he doesn't post tonight as I want this selection game to go on forever and just never stop.

So, please please don't post what ever you do Mr Tardy.

Just turn your computer off, go to bed, and have an early night.

Loving rvd's team, looks unbelievable on paper. DRJ a great choice.
I'm seriously happy with it - bats deep, has plenty of bowling options, allows for me to select a specialist pure wicketkeeper in Round 11 and compete with any team going. Although honestly, everyone's XI looks fantastic.

Start another straight after we finish :p

BTW, we're drafting a 12th man, right?

I like kyear's team provided that he gets a decent wicket-keeper. Two quicks that can bruise the batsman big time followed by two craftsmen is dangerous. I believe that Worrell was OK with the ball too.

Incidently, someone needs to select Alec Bedser to knock over his No.1 batsman - Arthur Morris - for not much. I don't think that Gooch would last long against him either.

There are plenty of good options for paceman but we have to pick someone who was good as 4th bowler! I'd never pick a new ball bowler for that job.

The Morris-Bedser bunny theory is an absolute myth actually! He averaged over 50 when he was playing against him, but eventually in those matches Bedser was often the bowler who got him. Bedser himself completely disagrees with the theory of Morris being his bunny, too! Surprised me when I found out.

P.S rvd I am asking you because I think we are often alike in our choices in drafts.

Noble, Trumble, Wardle, Gibbs, Lock, Saqlain... all options, just for ideas.

Noble averaged about 21 with the ball as a 4th bowler... tempting
