Piers Morgan bowled Lee no score 3 bruises

I actually think Lee should get massive props for taking the challenge seriously. He could have so easily just thrown down some pies, with Piers smashing him all over the park, and everyone laughing and having a big pc love-in. But to his credit he obviously has a bit of personal pride and respect for cricket, and wouldn't let such naive armchair comments go unpunished. Yeah it probably wasn't the greatest example to set for the kids, but **** it, either is letting a complete git get away pure hubris.
Bingo.

Some fairly embarrassing mummy state stuff coming out in the media over in NZ. Both Sir Richard and some chump columnist saying 'he could've died' etc. For a start - yes he could've been 'seriously' injured (ie broke limbs) and given this pompous fool professes to know the game, he should have wised up. But died? Typical media sensationalism.

And it'd be all well and good to say 'bet Lee would go no good doing what Morgan does' (as I think Piers himself did) if not for the fact Lee never called him out on how easy it is. I don't know this bloke but it's fairly obvious it wasn't a publicity stunt and he has such major tickets on himself that he would've done it with or without a TV show.

On ya Binger. Only confirmed more that I love the bloke.

I thought Brett Lee's conduct during the whole stunt was utterly disgraceful.

I mean, only hitting Morgan 3 times, not a single bone broken and not one use of the face high beamer? Come on Brett, you're better than that.

Comparing Warne's response to that of the Sky Sports comms (Gower, Atherton, Hussein) was priceless. The former is such a git.

You're allowed one beamer an innings, may as well use it.

Lee overstepping by a fair margin
First time i've seen this criticism, and I did notice it at the time. It was pretty **** that he bowled noballs. The other stuff that happened, meh.

Plus Piers signed an indemnity which explicitly stated there was a chance of death.

When Lee hit him on the body first ball I must admit I found it quite amusing. However when he continued to target his body virtually every ball when bowling from a metre past the crease with it now obvious Morgan would struggle to get his bat anywhere near the ball, it was a bit weak. It would have humiliated Morgan more by clean bowling him 3 or 4 times in the over. Why not just aim at the stumps?

Yes it is a tough game and injuries can happen but sustained, really fast short pitch bowling at a guy who can't bat is not tough. Sorta agree with Big Bambino to be honest. If he'd hit a Chris Martin or Murali 3 times in an over, I doubt we'd all be congratulating him and they are much more equipped to face fast bowling than Piers Morgan.

Stuff him. He had the full kit on. Nothing really bad was gonna happen to him. Loudmouthed knob.

And speaking of loudmouthed knobs. Warney. FFS. Guy gave me so much joy on the cricket field, and he'd have to the THE WORST commentator I've ever seen. Self righteous/self promoting/self aggrandising wanker. Just shut up. Constantly talking over the top of people even though he has nothing interesting to say.

No balls I agree with, but Chris Martin and Murali never called Lee out that I recall.

With everything in life, there are repercussions for behaviours and actions. Would 6 balls at the stumps have been enough for the pompous rubbish he was spouting? To me, no. Just another example of a keyboard warrior who got his beans - wish it happened more. This guy wrote cheques with his mouth that his ability couldn't cash, and deservedly got hurt. In my opinion.

I never like seeing a batsman get hit, FYI.

How much hurt does he deserve? Broken bones? Splintered temple? Fractured skull? Hit over the heart? All serious injuries some even life threatening. Ok so Morgan deserved a comeuppance. Considering the best way to deal with someone like Morgan blowing hard is to laugh him off, Lee's intentional assault was disproportionate and not justified by the context.

Are you seriously saying Piers Morgan has a heart?
