Piers Morgan bowled Lee no score 3 bruises

trying to remember why Brett Lee, who had to prove his fitness to play in a NSW game and that week's grade games had been washed out, declined to play in an U19 game, meaning he didn't play in the NSW game

Nonsense from Hadlee. Cricket is a dangerous sport, parents should be aware.

I think Hadlee's article brilliantly described the farcical mismatch and its potential consequences. He also wrote how Lee should have directed his bowling and illustrated its danger by saying that not even the experienced comperes would have enjoyed the onslaught. Its heartening to see someone of his stature condemn the stunt.

I chose to respond to your post instead of Silent One's because you mention Morgan's work in relation to the incident as somehow being deserving of this comeuppance. I've never listened to Morgan but can read the obvious antagonism to his views from posters here. Enjoying seeing a man who can't defend himself from being hit isn't a proper way to express opposition to his views, though I can think of a few pollies I dislike in Morgan's place and understand the attraction.
Thought of you the minute I read Hadlee's article.

If I accused international batsmen of being cowardly, I wouldn't have then cowered off to square leg when it was my turn to face the heat. I understand why Morgan did (as Hadlee pointed out, some serious damage could have been inflicted) but it just looked weak given what he'd said about his countrymen.

I'm absolutely filthy about the way Brett Lee bowled to Piers Morgan. That was disgusting. Not only was Lee overstepping by a fair margin, had this been a real match the umpire would have had him removed.

I don't care what people think about Piers Morgan. He is a journalist and not a top level cricketer. He could have been seriously hurt and we'd have a real situation on our hands now if he did.

What Lee did was absolutely correct IMO. M sure a lot of arm chair critics will now understand how difficult it is to face some real pace. From the standard camera angle, it looks pretty easy, but facing 120kph+(forget about 150kph+) is not a piece of cake and takes a lot of skill. And m sure Lee wouldn't have bowled with full pace. Nothing wrong with what he did.

You know, I never knew Morgan worked under Kelvin Mackenzie at The S*n. Well, **** me, icing firmly on cake.

Lets just say there wouldn't have much sympathy from back here in the UK if Morgan had been seriously hurt.
