I suppose they won't rest Rabada now, with the series decider coming up.

I don't think there have been any injury reports, so it doesn't appear as though they've called up Mulder to act as cover. In which case it makes absolutely no sense to add him to the squad for one match and not play him.

wtf. pretorius and mulder in for hendricks and miller. Surely markram should have played instead of pretorius...

Newlands has hosted 30 day/night matches and the team batting second has only won 6 times. That becomes 3 out of 27 if you discount matches where Zimbabwe, Kenya, and Canada batted first.

It is a bit gloomy at the moment in Cape Town, so maybe that's played a role in the decision today, but I'm not sure about the wisdom of winning the toss and bowling.

Has changed the last 3 seasons or so atleast at domestic level. Teams have won batting second.

Yeah, Amla's catching is definitely a problem too.

Pretorius total averageness is not going to win games..6 bowlers is a luxury and shouldn't be used at the expenses of a proper batting lineup.

This team is not designed as the WC line-up... it is a pure give these people a go and see who comes out on top. Particularly at the all rounder position. I'm surprised they have not played Markram, but I suppose it is fair enough giving Reeza and van der Dussen max opportunity to prove themselves.
