Pretorius total averageness is not going to win games..6 bowlers is a luxury and should be used at the expenses of a proper batting lineup.

But going in with five bowlers can be a risk if someone has a bad day as you then end up with situations like having Reeza Hendricks bowl, so it' can be a bit of a trade off in trying to get the right balance. That's why Duminy is so valuable to the team - he can pick up the slack with a handful of overs while not compromising the batting.

I'm surprised they have not played Markram, but I suppose it is fair enough giving Reeza and van der Dussen max opportunity to prove themselves.

But shouldn't Markram also be given a chance to prove himself? He's yet to really find his feet in ODIs, and if he's a realistic contender for a World Cup place needs to be given a go to show what he can do.

I know Marc has a problem with folks always over-rating SA sides going into the world cup. I don't think this SA side will face the problem of people over rating them.

Markram should be batting 3 for SA ahead of Reeza and van der Dussen.... but that has nothing to do with numbers and purely to do with class.

It's tough. Have to strike the balance between testing certain combinations as well as now thinking about the XI for WC.

In my ODI current rankings Steyn is now SA's number 1 bowler - just a shade above Rabada

I was about to comment that Reeza is booking his flight ticket to the WC.... when he gets himself out in a predictable way that just shows how none of the younger batsmen taking their chances.
