for everyone who is saying someone else from bangladesh should of been picked - alok kopali was chosen because he did not make the bangladesh sqaud for the first test vs zimbabwe where the ICC v Asia match is played on the fifth day of that test making it impossible for a frontline bangladeshi to participate

I think the likely people to be on the reserve bench are -

Atapattu, Zaheer/Vaas and Kumble/Murali. (by this I mean one of the two pairs).

Kapali and Akhtar are certain to play. Murali, I hope is going to turn up for this.

But then again, someone might pull out due to injury or other reasons .

Atapattu, one would think, as he's an opener and Sehwag/Jayasuriya are almost given there.
Hasn't he been batting 3 for SL recently with Jayantha in the team?

Personally, I don't mind too much with regards to Ponting being captain as hopefully Fleming can take a few notes on his style for the up'n'coming series. :D
I don't think Ponting could teach Fleming anything about captaincy.

Rafique or Bashar would have been a better choice for Bangladesh rep.
Aren't those 2 in the Test series though?

Obviously if it weren't for that the ROW side would clearly have had Utseya and Chigumbara in!

I believe SRT was told not to, but insisted on being in the squad - wouldn't be too shocked if he didn't play.

I expect all 3 Sri Lankans will be desperate to play, and fully expect them too (Murali's injury permitting)

I was more meaning Fleming could take notes from Ponting as to how Ponting plays his side and targets players etc, so that when Fleming takes him on in the Aus-NZ series, he has an even better idea of what to expect from his opponents. Better that for NZ than Fleming using his incredible skills and Ponting ending up a better captain from it right before Aussie tour the land o' the long white cloud. :)

Agreed. And a Sri lankan captaining the side wouldnt be like the worst thing ever.

Warne is god

Tugga Waugh was interviewed about this game yesterday on SEN 1116am. And having heard it I reckon that theres a chance that Tugga might pull on the pads one last time.

Anyone know if this match is going to be broadcast on TV in the UK? I'm guessing Sky or Setanta might show it.
