also, the boards for signing on.Once again, brilliant planning and accounting for contingencies by the ICC. A stellar record in recent times.
The ODI WC last year was very popular tbf. I'd say that really broke into the mainstream. So far, I have never seen a women's tournament discussed so much in CW or elsewhere. I can say this is the first tournament which opened women's cricket to the world. It is a tragedy that it is being ruined.
A complete farce. Would have been happy if India had edged England in a thriller but not this. And the first semi-final is officially gone. Rotten luck for England. Congrats to India, although I'm sure it would be more satisfying to get through by actually winning.
it's not a complete farce when it's shitting down. I'm less than 1km from the ground atm and there's talk of an Ark being built, even though there's no toilet paper available.A complete farce. Would have been happy if India had edged England in a thriller but not this.
There's a second front rolling on the 256km radar. But maybe we'll get lucky.Farcical there's no reserve days. Look at what would've happened in the men's World Cup otherwise!
At least the radar *might* be clearing up (in so much as there's no big radar cloud over Sydney), so it's possible we might get some play in the second match. Being a white ball game makes it a little more likely.

Edit: It occurs to me you were probably on about the lack of reserve days, in which case, it is ridiculous.
Yeah I think they got lucky the other time because of how dry the ground had been for the few months before that. There's been quite a bit of rain this month so I think the SCG drainage won't be as elite as it was in the BBL.There were some decent puddles on the ground earlier. I know the SCG drained well for the BBL final, but still.
Wasn't the ODI World Cup in 2017? After the men's Champions Trophy..The ODI WC last year was very popular tbf. I'd say that really broke into the mainstream.
But it does help that these two events have been in England and Aus, where women's cricket has undoubtedly the broadest and most dedicated following.
actually it occurs to me you’re a ****.actually he was talking about your face
Yea that's something that gets discussed quite a bit. People are just risk a bit risk adverse about it - say you shorten the game but the rain never comes. But I think we're in a place now where you can probably trust rain forecasts on the day of the game to be accurate enough to where match officials and administrators can start planning around it before it hits.Plus there's another band that'll probably hit around 8-9pm. So the most likely result is a washout. It's probably impossible but IMO in situations like these there should be contingencies to shorten matches before rain hits.
