Brunt seems to have some good returns in series so far. What's the story here? It seemed like she was on the way out of the team by the end of the WC.
Was she? Not surprised Shrubsole retired but Brunt is still England's best bowler at 37. Cross is in her late twenties and I'm not sure she'll ever be the leader of an attack. England need to continue to invest big time in Bell and Wong. The former is a beanpole, the latter has wheels. Hopefully they can learn from Brunt but she's like Anderson. She'll be picked until she retires because she's the best option.

I felt she was very ineffective in every game in the WC bar one match against BAN if I remember correctly. If she’s bowling well now and taking wickets that’s good news for England.

Yeah I suspect she was probably carrying some kind of niggle in the group stage but there was no one else to replace her with realistically. Bowled an okay new ball spell in the semifinal

Anyway hope SA can put up a bit more of a fight today in the only match on tour actually scheduled for a time people can watch

England look like they're rotating their squad and giving opportunities to their players. And they're still beating South Africa with relative ease. For me, they are clearly the second best side in the world right now. AUS is the only team that is better than them.

Yeah England's strength in depth is seriously good. Not quite as formidable as the Australians, but they certainly have an aura about them. Dunkley is a perfect example. Still quite new to international cricket, but has looked so assured and confident at the top of the order in a new role.

Very interested to see if Capsey gets some game-time in the Commonwealth Games. Seriously impressed by her during the Hundred last year. Charlie Dean has also fitted seamlessly into the team in all three formats over the past year and I really enjoy watching her classical off spin. To have a player of the calibre of Mady Villiers on the fringes speaks volumes for how England are developing

SA need to find some new batters.
and use the 2 they have at the top of the order wolvardt and tryon opening and they have a slim chance of winning.
If not they may look like someones idea of a batting order but theyll get bugger all runs.
Tryon may get out for not much but she may well hit a hundred in quick time. How will we ever know when she bats for about an over after the game is lost? And wolvaardt is woolvardt.
Bosch does a fine job of impersonating a batsmen until you look at her score per balls and realise it was all a mirage. Sth africa only have 2 batters after all. 3 if kapp is back

sa batting order 1 woolvaardt 2 tryon 3 kapp
456789 10 11 who cares?
i prefer to sleep after watching the game to the first 6 overs. Leave the boring batters to the tail end you MORONIC COACH ( can she hear me ? )

also Amy Jones. Terrible keeper. How did she get in the national team? nepotism ? probably. Looking forward to watching her fumble another catch/ stumping/whatever and she just plods along without comment. Someone search england for a chick who can catch a ball .

just watched the nz vs sth africa game and tryon looked like sth africas only batter. Woolvardt got out before she wArmed up to it.
i cant even recall if kapp even played

New zealand were the worry. Bates batted really well but devine lacked power in her batting.
Hopefully she just had a bad day.
I cant find the ladbrokes page where the team prices to win gold were.
Lucky i wrote them down here. Was it this thread?

Not sure if that only includes West Indies and not Barbados. Still that seems to have come from nowhere and it weakens the team immensely.
