150/284 must be close to the % of a teams runs scored by a single batter in Women's Tests.

First Test 100 for Nat Sciver, and some debut by Alice Davidson-Richards.

Kapp will be the vital wicket I think. Could be a very good day's play (if the rain stays away, looks a showery forecast)

Still time to play today, SA probably need to get close to a 70+ run lead to ensure that they can walk away with the draw... Estimated number of overs left in the day is 25ish... not sure how accurate that is.

46 overs left in the day apparently... so want to play out at least 25 of them and get close to a 100 run lead... probably 120.

If SAW draw this, wow what a performance by Tumi Sekhukhune came in yesterday evening when it was dank and overcast as nightwatcher (I see others use this word not so sure i like it ) and still there

"Nightwatcher" sounds truly awful

Heard the term been used in reverse (as in someone being brought in to "watch the night"), that isn't too bad imo

Back to Sekhukhune, certainly a pretty handy innings that, especially considering before this test her previous highest international score was 6

Marizanne Kapp now has a Test batting average of 70, but has also bowled 222 balls without a wicket (econ 1.81).

Yeah, batter instead of batsman as a gender-neutral term is fine, but nightwatcher doesn't really work.

Absolutely. There's a reason she batted at 10 in the first innings, and she exceeded expectations in nightwatching.

For a team of players whose first ever (bar two) competitive red ball match was the warm-up match last week, that was a good showing from South Africa, who definitely had England on the ropes at one point but weren't able to press home the advantage. I really hope we don't have to wait another eight years for our next test.

Yes that aspect was disapointing
Especially since we were missing Ismail and Khaka (does anyone know what the story is with her?). I know it's maybe a little harsh on Kapp given her heroics with the bat, but we could have done with her contributing with the ball as well.

I know she had at least one dropped of her bowling... think it might have been two.

Would have loved to have seen a fifth day added, although given today's forecast it may be a moot point.
