**** that’s a seed of doom. Angle in and deck away. Sibley no where near it, and fair enough too

Which series was this?

EDIT : Referring to the discussion about WI's arrogant behavior
The 7 overs an hour session was in 1990. England had won the first test and were chasing a small target in the 2nd but Haynes slowed the game right down so we ran out of time. Richards' antics were in the next test in the same series.
The NZ series was ten years earlier. They were getting royally shafted by the home umpires but lost most people's sympathy when Holding kicked down the stumps and Croft deliberately ran into one of the umpires.
All that being said, the points I've ever made about the WI sides of that era is the lack of gobbiness compared to what we saw subsequently, which i think still stands.

for a short, slow swing bowler it's sort of a credit to roach i feel like he underachieves sometimes despite a very solid record.

Whatever it takes!!!
Another reason why you can't just rule out spinners in SENA. Especially England and NZ, where the pitches are softer than Aus or SA.

i know many indian fans think everything here is a moist greenie but you can rule out spinners here unless they're in the nathan lyon mould.

International Captain
Yes Crawley got 76 in the last game so it makes sense for him to have been selected over Denly for this Test. But I wonder how he got into the squad in the first place? He really hasn't been particularly prolific in county cricket, with an average of 30 and three hundreds in 70 innings. Could it simply be he is the young player in Ed Smith's county side?

What's Root doing with these vague back foot wafts outside off? You're captain and your side is 40/2 ffs, pull your head in.

Root on that back foot push really is a weakness. Gets him a fair few runs once he’s set but fmd he gives you a chance when he plays it

The Chase meme is all well and good, but Holder needs to be bowling to Root here before he’s set.

EDIT : Referring to the discussion about WI's arrogant behavior
Was a series vs England in the early 90s where England were on the verge of winning the series and west indies shamelessly slowed down the overrate. Lara mentioned in one of those spirit of cricket lectures that he was 12th man and he was instructed to run onto the field every few overs for trivial rubbish to try and waste as much time as possible. Says he was embarrassed and was extremely disappointed by the behaviour of teammates who he considered his heroes at the time. He minces no words when he talks about Viv and holdings behaviour in other series too... You should look it up if you can. That entire part of his speech is seriously scathing.
