***Official*** West Indies in Sri Lanka

Dasa

International Vice-Captain
Very impressive figures from Lawson. He has a phenomenal strike rate in Tests now - 42.7.

International Regular
Good work to the only wicket taker bowler of Lawson who takes all four wickets. Sri Lanka are the expected victors in this match, some good batting at times but not enough to defeat Sri Lanka.

Australia should have scheduled the 1st Test againts the windies at Perth this season, if the W.A.C.A is anything like it was last season, with the likes of Edwards, Lawson, Best & Powell charging at them  well....... that could have been very interesting indeed.
*cough* Pedro Collins *cough* Corey Collymore *cough*

I'm glad the match wasn't a one sided affair. I thought SL might lose when they were 100 odd for 7 in the first innings. good bowling by the WI. very impressed with Lawson and Best.

Best is just raw pace without a brain (I mean he was even amusingly outwitted by Flintoff) he's going to end up like Mohammed Sami stats-wise I fear.

Whatever it takes!!!
I just hope they can get their batting sorted out. I still think this team is over reliant on two batters... Lara (if he plays) and Chanders... Sarwan and Gayle are still consistently inconsistent. The bowling attack did well here. Here's hoping they continue to succeed.

My team for the next match:

SC Joseph
R Ramdass - a better batsman than Xavier Marshall, who is more ready to play at the highest level.
S Chanderpaul - needs to show some backbone and bat higher up.
RS Morton
NO Deonarine - needs to figure out where his offstump is.
D Ramdin
DR Smith - by default. This move exposes the imbalance of the squad.
OAC Banks
KCB Jeremy - Tino Best isn't cutting it currently. Jeremy is a good stock bowler.
DB Powell
JJC Lawson

I saw Best bowl. he consistantly troubled the batsmen. specially Mahela and thilan. he was unlucky not to have taken a couple of wickets in the second innings.

I'd keep Best for the second test. SL batmen struggle against pace.they still haven't learned how to leave the ball outside off stump.

What I saw of Best, he consistently bowled long hops. Not sure if we were watching the same match...

He got a delivery or two in the right spot every over or two, but was clearly the weak link.
