Wow, great start for the Windies, 4.3 per over. Looks like it was a good toss to win.

Didn't realize Gayle had been replaced as skipper, but had previously suggested it would be a good idea,
You've seen who's replaced him though?

International Captain
Wow, Chris Gayle isn't mucking around is he. I guess he's just been in one of those moods has he? Or is it the bowling?

Anybody know why Malinga isn't playing? Soooo much better than any other Sri Lanka bowlers.

Pretty sure the WI can challenge them here and probably force a draw, but **** me Sri Lanka's attack's ordinary.

He's supposed to have some fitness issues and they don't want to risk him before the World Cup.

yeah the story is on cricinfo. They don't want to risk him for the world cup. He is not 100% fit.

Bit dodgy - their ODI team seems a LOT more competent than the test team (or at the bowling).
Frankly speaking they have just lost Murali and it is not an easy loss to replace. That is why their bowling looks EXTRA ordinary :).....

Mendis novelty factor seems to have run out. Been decoded by India, Pak and now Gayle, a very limited player of spin bowling.

Not Terrible
Mendis isn't the great he was heralded as being but he is still a pretty good spinner. Randiv will be much better.

Still the best two man spin attack in the world IMO.

Wasim Akram's record of 12 sixes in a test innings could be under threat. Most maximums Gayle has managed in a test innings is 7 against NZ at road Napier. Currently on 6.
