Yeah my opinion is one look in slow motion should be enough for anyone with a good eye.Agreed it took far too long. It takes about 2 seconds to see it once and nothing changes the second, third or fourth time you've seen it. Perhaps it's time to get some younger umpires, Koertzen is past it anyway.
Yeah exactly. If it is so maginal that it needs more than a couple of looks from one angle then it should be given not out.Maybe also give the tv umpire a limit of 3 views of the replay, and if he is not sure, give it not out?
They'll be aiming for about 100. The most they can get in with an extra half-hour in the morning and half-hour at night is 105, so if there's no light/weather problems, this game still has 300-odd left in it.How much overs would you assume possible for the next couple days, providing there are no rain delays. Will the light be able to hold up till late in the day???
Providing the sky is clear then yes, sun set around 9.30.How much overs would you assume possible for the next couple days, providing there are no rain delays. Will the light be able to hold up till late in the day???
With the NFL the ref has two minutes of video replay to see what happened, then consults with his other refs before making a decision. And to overturn the decision on the field, there has to be proof beyond doubt that the call on the field was wrong.Yeah exactly. If it is so maginal that it needs more than a couple of looks from one angle then it should be given not out.
With the NFL system for referrals there is a time limit of about 5mins. Since NFL is so drawn out with so many stoppages, 1-2mins in cricket should be plenty of time.
Thats the one. With the NFL the ref has two minutes of video replay to see what happened, then consults with his other refs before making a decision. And to overturn the decision on the field, there has to be proof beyond doubt that the call on the field was wrong.
The groundsman reckons if they didn't have the 'helicopter' (drainage machine) they wouldn't get play at all today. Why is the drainage in Dunedin so crap?
