In the interests of maintaining the purity of this thread, it's probably an idea to drop the NZ-IND pitch doctoring debate. I think you'll find, C_C, that the discussion evolved naturally from a debate on which teams don't like touring where. You didn't start it, so stop being defensive. You need to chill out.
Seconded. Passed.

Now lets go back. The last thing I basically said was that I didn't understand how Eden Park's pitch could be so dribbly when it is a portable.

I didnt start it- i commented on one key aspect you were blissfully overlooking - the kiwis doctored the pitches specificially between innings to suit their team. As such, the Kiwis got away scot-free from such blatent violation of the rules.
I rather like the idea of let bygones be bygones...and i can see that you do too, given that it doesnt suit your agenda at all.

arnt all portable pitches a bit dodgier than permanent pitches in general ? perhaps it has something to do with the pitch settling issues..

Why is that funny? And yes you were the first person to mention the old doctored pitches thing. It's there in black and white. And blue. etc.

Rain stopped play. Taking an early tea. 161/7. Not bad for NZ at all. Just hope they can penetrate the Windies batting line up second time round. If you know what I mean.

Do you read before you post? First - I said you didn't start the debate. Second - this is the WI-NZ thread, so this discussion is over.

This is now a final warning, if you want to continue annoying fellow members within this thread, you will face a ban.

It ends here.

I don't get it either. The only thing I can think of is that they get more rain up there, and the air is generally more humid.

Have you seen the nursery they've installed next to the number 2 ground? There's like 6 pitches in there. Surely one has to be good...

Your talk is meaningless. Take action.
I've done nothing but contribute to a scenario that *I* didnt start- and when the comments ( which were valid - some guy was trying to justify pitch doctoring...well more like overlooking it) arnt palatable, its 'curb free speech' time.
If you think your posturing makes an impact, you are very wrong.
I am still waiting for you to crack the whip on the guy who brought it up in the first place.

It's funny when you see their old experimental trays they sometimes have lying around the number two boundary. They are half mud, half grass, with these big dents in them. They look like a the pitch Clarke got 6/9 on (except there was no grass on that one) !

and who wants to continue it and continue it and continue it some more, and try and take discussion away from today's game.

I would suggest you just stop...

Your 'suggestion' will be given consideration. Primarily because the tone is much more acceptable. I will drop it now- barring further justifications of the incident.

What's happening with North Habour Stadium these days? They've got a lovely outer oval up there which they could consider doing something with couldn't they?

Or send Trevor Jackson up to sort out your grounds people out ;)

Think they (the Stadium) decided not have cricket there any more. I think I am right?

....

So anyway, pleasantly surprised at the position the kiwis find themselves in. I thought without Bond we'd be stuffed. Still, it's heartening to note that even though the Windies aren't doing so well, that they have a nucleus of good players to build on, ie. Morton, Bravo, Edwards, even Ramdin.

 Great subject change there. So subtle!

I really hope NZ's batting is better than what we've seen (or read on cricinfo for those of us not lucky enough to be near a tv) so far from the West Indies. From what I heard this morning the pitch is a pretty decent batting track right?

Was it Shania Twain that said "That don't impress me much"?

And gee NZ are in a good position considering as soon as Bond drops out our bowling attack looks pretty ordinary, AND that they won the toss and chose to bat!
