Who would you open with then?
Who really knows. I still believe Fleming is the best equiped to open. I suspect Fleming will bump Vincent out of the #4 position. James Marshall and Cumming are obviously not up to opening in Tests. My bet would be:

1) Vincent
2) How
3) Marshall
4) Fleming
5) Astle
6) Styris
7) McCullum
8) Vettori
9) Franklin
10) Bond
11) Martin

I'd say that is what the selectors would go for, but who would honestly know. The top order still looks weak. More important, however, is that the weather holds tomorrow.

Hehe, spot the journalist

Like I said, the Windies have been poor but I don't think that we are really in a position to attack them as much as we have. The series has been a bit closer than the results suggest - WI could have won the 20/20, should definately have won the 2nd ODI from the position they were and got relatively close in the 3rd ODI. Their fielding, from what I have seen has been very poor but I don't think that ours has been that great either TBH. Yes, Astle took a screamer but other than that I have seen several misfields in the circle and missed runouts.
As Tim said, they talked a big game, so if they can't back it up, they deserve everything they get.

Agreed. I mean, shouldn't we be annoyed that the West Indies Manager made those ridiculous comments about us before the series? They were setting themselves up before they even got here. And believe me, if NZ were playing the same way touring the West Indies I highly doubt the newspapers over there would be showing any mercy.
Those comments weren't made on behalf of or with the sanction of the team though. That's why everyone was so ****ed about it.

Not a cloud in the sky in Auckland at the moment and i'm geussing it to be a fine day. Still there is still 7 hours to go and anything can happen in that time in NZ. Blackcaps have to win or else ill have to do that thing I said ages ago about Rawl Lewis' picture and quote 'Rawl Lewis - My Heroe'

How's the weather now guys?

In Wellington, it is so cold, windy and wet!
I live near Howick, and the weather here could hardly be better. From all reports, it looks like a nice day around Auckland... let's hope it holds.

I'd go for:

1) Vincent
2) How
3) Fulton
4) Fleming
5) Astle
6) Marshall
7) McCullum
8) Vettori
9) Franklin
10) Bond
11) Martin

12) Styris

You can't call Styris an allrounder: he has hardly bowled since the England series and hasn't taken a wicket. And his batting has been ordinary.

I agree completely with him. Our media - and commentators too for that matter - have been so unbelievably arrogant this whole tour.

Sure, the Windies have been poor. But its not as though they have been completely pasted every single game, and remember that its not that long ago that we lost 4-0 in South Africa.

They played like ****.. what do they want our media to say ???

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Yeah I wish I could actually see this, lol. How fast are the Windies bowling?

At least Taylor will get a chance to make a big score.

Well considering that we've only got one fast bowler, I'd say we're bowling as fast as Edwards is.

Taylor plays on, but what a little Cameo !!! Can't remember a New Zealand batsmen with such quick hands since Martin Crowe. Am I over-reacting ??? Very exciting with the World Cup coming next year.

I was captivated by his little cameo, just a pleasure to watch. He hit us out of a hole much like Symonds and Ponting do for Australia.

*%^%%&%% Vincent :(
Classic Vincent, Century one game, 1 the next. He can't be a first team regular until he finds some kind of consistancy.

He said it himself after the last game. He said something along the lines of 'I need to pick up my consistancy'

Does anyone else think that Styris would be a bit of a ***** to bat with?

Edit - Is anyone else ****ed off with the way Styris is playing his cricket?
