Surely it's not that hard to believe. You clearly underestimate the man.
Sarwan is awesome. He would be in my top 5 'Batsmen I enjoy watching most'

One of the most talented batsmen in world cricket.

I was talking about Tests but it's not out of the realm of possibility for ODIs either. Was once the best ODI bat in the world(rankings). He wasn't playing outside his offstump like he is now then so...

Yes, but it seems as if bowlers have worked him out and so his average has fallen accordingly. If he continually gets out playing at balls outside off-stump then you'd think that good bowlers (and coaches for that matter) would have picked up on it and so bowl in that area.

That said, I personally rate him highly in ODIs. Better than any of our middle order batsmen for starters.
I don't think bowlers has worked him out as much as he has developed a mental problem with regards to playing outside his offstump at international level. Over the past couple of seasons Sarwan has finally done what he should have been doing for a few years now - dominating regional cricket.

He just seems to have this total lapse in though at international level where he hangs his bat out for no reason at all. As Xavier said, he wasn't always that way, and it only became a serious problem in my eyes over the course of the Australian tour.

Player of Sarwan class should be averaging above 50 in test cricket atleast. Certainly some mental problems with the lad.

Biggest underachiever among current players?

How has been replaced by Marshall. Just a straight swap as far as I know. No injuries or anything.

63/2 after 14 overs..not many punches being thrown by other side right now.

Hmmm... I though 2 wickets in 3 overs was a pretty decent punch.

West Indies cricket has suddenly struck me as boring and predictable. I think a lot of that is because Dwayne Bravo and Brian Lara aren't participating in this series.

What's with the generousity of New Zealand?

Pleasant surprise that Edwards is bowling with such economy. Deighton Butler, who I rate as an OD bowler, seems to be backing me nicely right now.

Definitely. This would be a much closer series than it is now.

Dwayne Bravo is on the field as a substitute fielder. Doesn't he have a side strain? Brilliant player management IMO.

It figures that Fidel Edwards bowls his first noball of the innings and he bowls McCullum with it. McCullum gone now, but surely Edwards deserves a wicket.

I wonder if Chanderpaul is as furious as I am. Edwards has just fallen apart in epic fashion. Koertzen didn't help though. Poor play by the umpire - he could have seriously hurt him.

What happened with the umpire?

From what I gather from the radio, the ball had been hit close to the boundary previously and the batsmen ran two. The fielder touched the boundary in fielding it and gave a signal of four, but Koertzen didn't notice apparently and didn't signal the boundary.

Edwards ran in for the next delivery and when he was in full stride and about to go into the final stage of his action, the umpire stuck his arm out to stop him. It totally threw Edwards off and apparently he was pretty upset about it.

Whoa that would've been pretty bad if he'd ended up clotheslining him.

And Astle brings up his hundred, good effort.

It's shocking captaincy that Bradshaw didn't bowl his 10. Gayle has built a reputation as a quality death bowler, but he has neither had the opportunity nor has he done the job in limited opportunity over the past year and a half. He was also getting smacked leading into that final over. I don't think Bradshaw is a good enough death bowler either, but surely he should have bowled his 10, given that he took 3 wicket.

Dwayne Smith has potential as a death bowler IMO.
