Well we may have lost Cairns and Oram, but McCullum and Vettori open for their teams, Franklin bats around 5 or 6 for Wellington. And Bond is certainly no slouch either.And Jetan is top of the first class avgs this season! 105 runs, one dismissal!

And everyone keeps on saying that he looked so good the other day at three. Irrelevant. He came in after 25 or so overs. That is why he looked so good. Put him 4 or 5.

Speaking of that, Styris said this morning on Radio Sport that he doesn't have a favoured position, as such, but that he likes to come in between the 15th and 20th over, so he can build an innings, get in, and hit out a bit at the end. Good point. I guess when you think about it like that, batting positions become irrelevant.

Could sides build line ups as over specialists instead of position specialists? Ie, first 10 over specialists, 40-50 over specialists, etc.

Be pretty hard. Look what happened today to NZ compared to the other day. Your openers can put on 136, or you can be 13/4. To hard to manage a whole team of. Maybe a couple of your team can be.

Vettori shouldn't be allowed to bat for us. He is a terrible judge of a run, and just ran out our best chance of victory.

I don't understand why he bats before Franklin.
