Ah, mixed feelings. End of a magnificent lone hand. But stoked for Boult and NZ.

Boulteh Boulteh Boulteh Boulteh wafg.

Unusual slip in concentration from Chanderpaul. Was looking pretty much immovable.

Will be interesting to see what we do with our bowlers now. Of course we want to clean this up ASAP, but it would also be good to have Boult and Southee fresh for the follow-on.

Was thinking the same thing actually.

Anyone think it may be worth scoring a quick 150/200 runs to give Boult and Southee a rest?

Haha, exactly. If anything, we're on more of an uphill trajectory than we've been in some time... I hope.
I think any discussion of NZ and WI's relative merits and trajectories needs to take into consideration that WI are currently ranked 20 points higher than us on the ICC, and I think that is genuinely indicative of where both teams have been on average against all comers in all conditions in the last few years i.e. I think they've generally been better than us.

We need to extend the improved competitiveness we've shown in the last 18 months and to begin with, start turning it into home wins. If we do we'll quickly head up to around 95 points even with WI.

Windies obv need to stop having off-field issues otherwise they're going to fall from current 95 points.

When was the last time a side had such a change in quality from the opening bowlers to the third seamer and the spinner? Hadlee days?

Yeah, possibly! Although Wagner's usually a lot better than he has been today - albeit still well below the first two.

Shillingford with no idea how to pick a wrongun it seems. TBF to Sodhi it actually looks like quite a well disguised one, doesn't give it the obvious back-of-the-hand action.
