Vettori isn't test standard either tbh.

Don't want to start a debate on the value of Vettori's bowling contributions as part of some very weak attacks, but suffice it to say that his very tight bowling combined with his excellent record at number 8 would be an excellent addition to this team and he'd certainly be more valuable a player than Sodhi.

Really dislike Nigel Long. Utterly rubbish umpiring in India and that was not a good decision at all, the ball didn't seam back at him.

Basically, Long is gash and although that was by no means a terrible decision, it was the wrong one. He was awful in India and I hate his demeanour, constantly shouting at the batsman 'you're out'. I don't think our players like him either. I hope he's not umpiring any more matches in this series.

In any case, that was good use of the DRS.

WI missed out on an LBW against Sodhi (I think, might've been Wagner) after they'd wasted their two earlier reviews, but it was relatively inconsequential by that stage. I don't think it was Llong umpiring at the time and it wasn't an obvious LBW that they would've definitely reviewed.

Here's hoping for a good series for DRS.

I liked BMacs bowler rotations today. No need to save Southee for a pre-lunch spell, better to keep him going and paid off with the extra wicket. Boult bowled a shorter spell, perhaps strange to not bring him back for a pre lunch spell, but keeps him fresher for afternoon session, hopefully against the tail.

yeah, I was thinking the same thing.

29 overs till the new ball. A good long spell for Southee and Boult should take up 15 of those and then the rest of them can keep a lid on things while we rest them to come back and finish the job with the new ball. Pretty excellent planning really. Bond probably had some hand in it.

Because they're still the best wicket-taking bowlers, even with the old ball.

Would have Southee instead of Sodhi right now. I think he could at least bowl 3 overs.

Should really 100% be bowling Southee at Sammy. I was happy with Baz's rotations at first but get the ****ing strike bowler on and give him a chance to run right through.
